💚 Refresh Retreats: “It was life-changing.” When Cathy and Peter joined a BaptistCare at home Refresh Retreat on the NSW Central Coast, they were in the early stages of their dementia journey and, like many couples, were feeling uncertain and a little alone. What they found was connection, understanding and a supportive community walking a similar path. Peter made a close friend, enjoyed outings and began to feel more at ease and confident. Cathy found comfort in speaking openly, learning alongside others and realising she wasn’t alone. In her words, the retreat was “life-changing”. 🌿 Today, Cathy and Peter feel more confident and more positive. Life feels lighter, brighter and full of possibility again. If you are caring for someone living with dementia, our Refresh Retreats offer time to rest, learn, connect and rediscover joy together. 💛 👉 Read Cathy and Peter’s story in our latest blog: https://lnkd.in/g3vWstCn #BaptistCare #BaptistCareathome #RefreshRetreats #CarerSupport #LivingWithDementia

When 18-year-old Arthur Robinson first stepped into the kitchens at Sunrise Supported Living Tuncurry retirement village on the NSW Mid North Coast as a year 10 work experience student, he had no idea how much it would shape his future. Two years later, he is completing his chef’s apprenticeship, and he could not be happier. Read more about Arthur's story here: https://lnkd.in/g5r_zRu6

Almost a quarter of a million more Australian children have fallen into poverty in just four years. The Child Poverty in Australia 2025 report reveals over 950,000 children are now experiencing food insecurity, poor housing, and limited access to essential services. At BaptistCare, we see the impact of this crisis every day across South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales, ACT and Western Australia. Through our community services, we walk alongside families doing it tough, supporting them through a range of care and support services. We're proud to stand with 180 organisations calling on the Federal Government to legislate a child-centred definition of poverty and commit to meaningful action. Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. Our 2025 Annual Report is here – and it marks a historic moment in our story. This year, BaptistCare (NSW, ACT, WA), Baptcare (VIC, TAS, SA) and Baptist Care SA officially united as one national organisation. Together, we now serve communities across Australia with strengthened capability, deeper impact and a shared commitment to care. As part of our Annual Report, we’re proud to share our BaptistCare house graphic (current as of 15 November) – a snapshot of the breadth of our services nationwide and the incredible communities behind them. It highlights the residents, clients, tenants, employees, volunteers and chaplains who make up our organisation and bring our mission to life every day. With more than 80 years of faith-driven service, expanding aged care, housing, and community programs, and supporting individuals and families in times of need, 2025 has been a year of transformation. Our financial position also remains strong, strengthened by the merger and recent acquisitions. This stability gives us the scale and confidence to meet rising demand for aged care, housing and community support. This Christmas, help shine a light for women left in the dark🕯️ While many of us will gather with loved ones this Christmas, thousands of older women across Australia will face the night alone - some in cars, some on park benches, some on the streets. 💔According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (2021 Census), almost half (44%) of the 122,000 people experiencing homelessness were women. Research published in the Medical Journal of Australia (2024) reveals that almost 40% (37.8%) of homeless women are aged 55 and over, making them the fastest-growing group facing homelessness. They are women like Marie*, who became homeless at 63 after 15 years caring for her elderly mother. When her mum passed away, Marie couldn't afford to retrain to return to nursing. With no income and nowhere to go, her car became the only place she had left to call home. Then HopeStreet found Marie, offering her food, warmth and a safe place to belong. With your help, she now has a home and hope again.🏠 ✨ This Christmas, you can help more women like Marie find safety and belonging.👉Please give generously at: appeal.baptistcare.org.au * For privacy and protection reasons, Marie’s story is a composite based on real-life women 55 and over. #HopeStreet #BaptistCare #ChristmasAppeal #GiveHope #Homelessness

We’re growing in Western Australia!🌟🌳🏘️ BaptistCare is excited to announce that we’ve entered into an agreement with Keyton, a leading national retirement village provider, to acquire a portfolio of 10 retirement villages across WA. BaptistCare has been providing care and services to West Australians for more than 50 years, and this exciting milestone will see us welcome over 2,000 residents who live in 1,639 units and more than 50 dedicated employees into the BaptistCare community. This significant acquisition expands our presence to 20 villages, 12 aged care homes and three Home Care hubs across the state. Keyton has been a trusted part of the WA community for many years, and we’re honoured to build on that strong foundation. Together, we share a deep commitment to compassionate, high-quality care and support for older Australians. We’re looking forward to working closely with residents and employees to ensure a smooth transition, with all current employees offered ongoing roles and village life continuing just as it does today. This acquisition marks an exciting new chapter for BaptistCare in WA – one where we continue to invest in people, communities and the care that makes a difference.💜 Images shown represent a selection of the incoming WA retirement villages. Today, on Remembrance Day, we take a moment to pause and pay tribute to the incredible courage, bravery and unwavering dedication of all those who have fought for our country. Remembrance Day holds significant meaning for many members of our BaptistCare community. Some have served themselves, while others have had family and friends who have served or been impacted by wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. We will always remember and honour those who sacrificed so much to protect our freedom and keep us safe. Their legacy lives on in our hearts. Lest we forget.
