The document summarizes a research paper on optimizing real-time database compression using an Iterative Length Compression (ILC) algorithm. The proposed ILC algorithm aims to compress real-time databases more effectively to reduce storage requirements, costs, and increase backup speed compared to conventional compression methods. Experimental results on a 1GB sample database show the ILC approach achieves a compression ratio of 2.76 and 64% space savings, outperforming other compression algorithms in terms of compression ratio, space savings, and processing time for compression and decompression.
