 The story of Dabur began with Dr. S. K. Burman, a physician in
Bengal
 The news of his medicines traveled, and he came to be
known as the trusted 'Dakar' or Doctor who came up with
effective cures and that is how his venture Dabber got its
name - derived from the Devanagri rendition of Daktar
Burman.
 Dr. Burman set up Dabur in 1884 to produce and dispense
Ayurvedic medicines.
 In 1986 Dabur becomes a Public Limited Company.

an objective of development of rural areas. Sundesh
integrates various aspects like health, literacy,
employment and empowerment to let people take

weaker sections of society including:

 4.The unemployed.
700 se 7 kadam
 A step towards helping the less fortunate sisters and
daughters, Dabur – through its toilet cleaner brand SaniFresh
took the initiative to help construct toilets for them.
 The intent was to reduce the distance they walk for relieving
themselves from 700 steps to a mere 7.
 Hence, the campaign was aptly titled '700 Se 7 Kadam'.
Water conservation and management project
 Dabur’s Water Conservation and Management project,
Desert Bloom, in Rajasthan has been designed in line with
the state Government’s Mukhya Mantri Jal Swavalamban
Abhiyaan. This project has helped gain access to water for
their daily use and irrigation needs. This initiative has helped
improve the water level in the tube wells.

As part of its inorganic growth strategy, Dabur India
acquires Balsara's Hygiene and Home products businesses,
a leading provider of Oral Care and Household Care
products in the Indian Market, in a INR 143 Crore all cash
deal.
 2007
Dabur Foods Merged With Dabur India
Dabur India decides to merge its wholly owned subsidiary Dabur Foods
Limited with itself to exact synergies and unlock operational
efficiencies.
 2008
Acquires Fem Care Pharma
Dabur India acquires Fem Care Pharma, a leading player in the women
skin care market. Besides an entry into the high growth skin care
market with an established brand named Fem, this transaction also
offers Dabur a strong platform to enter newer product categories and
markets.
