What is Asana?

is a web-based
project management tool.

It was designed to improve
team collaboration working in
a particular project.

You can communicate and
work effectively with your team
without using an email.

The free service provide
maximum of 15 team
members.

There are two options you can
use Asana.

As a Web and Mobile
application.

For this tutorial, we will cover the
following:
How to sign up with Asana.
How to create Personal and Team
Project.
How to assign tasks to team
members.
How to maximize its features for team

Type in www.asana.com

Press Enter!

Welcome to Asana!

Before we proceed…

it would be helpful to
familiarize with some
important terms in Asana. 

Organizations are the highest
level of hierarchy for your
business.

Workspace is a virtual
space where your team will
work together in a given
project/projects.

Projects are lists of tasks
to be completed.

Tasks are the basic unit of work.
Each task represents work need
to accomplish.

Teams are group of people
working together to complete a
project or projects.

1. Signing up with Asana

You can sign up using Google.

Or create account with Asana.

Enter your email.

Click Get Started for Free.

Open your email and verify email
account.

Click verify your email address.

Check out Asana Video first!

Click Continue.

Fill in the details.

You can also add your photo.

Click Add Photo.

Select the photo you will use.

And there you have it. 

Who will be working with you?

Add your team’s email and click
continue.

This is your Asana Workspace.

Your Dashboard.

My Inbox is your notification center for
Asana…

This displays updates on all projects you are
connected with.

Use Search bar to find
tasks or files.

2. Creating Personal and
Team Project

Click your Profile and choose
Personal Projects.

My Personal Tasks will appear on
your Workspace.

Click plus (+) sign to create a
project.

Type in the title of your Project.

Click Create Project.

Now, you have a Workspace for
your new Project.

The list of tasks will appear here.

Start a conversation here.

Set up your schedule here.

Track the progress of your project.

All attachments related to the
project will appear here.

Check the drop down menu
for other options.

Click Add Task.

List down the tasks you need to
do for this project.

Click this to assign the task.

Check out this tool menu.

A heart button indicates you
love the task assigned to you

Tag is used to create filtered
views of tasks across projects

You can add a task within task,
assign it and put due date.

Attachments options to source
out external files.

Other options you can choose.

Click check button if the task is
completed.

Once the task is complete it will
be removed from your workspace.

If you want to view
the completed task…

Click View and choose All
Completed Tasks.

There you have it. 

This time, we will do
Team Project.

Click plus (+) button in
Projects.

Check the privacy section.

Again, identify the tasks your
team need to accomplish.

3. Assigning tasks to team
members

Click this button to assign a team
member to do this task.

Put the email and name of your
team member on each task.

The initials of the assigned
member will appear here.

Each member can view the
task assigned to them.

4. Maximizing Asana features
for team collaboration

Let’s add subtasks, click this
button.

Type subtasks on this area.

Set due date for this subtask.

You can add comments
or notes here.

Adding files to subtask.

Source out from Google Drive.

Click Allow.

Log in to your Google account.

Choose the file you will attach.

Click Select.

The file is successfully attached.

You will notice that only two
persons can follow this subtask.

You can add followers for this
subtask by clicking this add button.

Let’s assign the second subtask to
a Guest member.

For Guest members like
contractors, interns or clients they
only have limited access on the
project.

Click Assign this subtask.

Type the name, email and put
check on this section.

The initial of the Guest member
will appear here.

Let’s check the Progress Report.

Click Progress.
