A Day-Late But Always On Duty: Thank You to Our Veterans Yesterday may have been Veterans Day, but our gratitude is every-day at San Diego LEARN. Here in San Diego, we are part of one of the largest military and veteran communities in the country, with 115,000 active duty and 230,000 veterans calling SD home. We know that transition from military to civilian life doesn't come easy... but we also believe the next mission for many of our veterans can be in industries that both sustain livelihoods and sustain the planet. Trades like HVAC, energy efficiency, clean-energy installation and other technical skilled careers offer a pathway to financial stability while keeping our planet sustainable. We've been supporting this idea for a while, now, but San Diego LEARN isn't the only program recognizing there is an incredible opportunity in expanding access to skilled energy trades. 👷 💡 A recent partnership between San Diego College of Continuing Education and Encanto's Lincoln High School shows what's possible when communities invest in hand-on learning. With HVAC training and EPA certification, students gain technical skills and the confidence to launch into good-paying energy careers right here in San Diego...
