XTEND Reality Inc. has secured a multi-million-dollar contract from the United States Department of War to develop AI-enabled drone kits. These drones, known as Affordable Close Quarter Modular Effects FPV Drone Kits, are designed to enhance precision and survivability in complex urban and rural environments. XTEND will provide training, maintenance, and production from its Tampa, FL headquarters, focusing on swarm-based autonomy and one-way attack capabilities. XTEND CEO Aviv Shapira said the system allows operators to control AI-enabled tactical drones remotely with precision and zero-latency control. Turing, a Tokyo-based self-driving technology startup, has raised $99 million in a series A funding round, valuing the company at $388 million. Investors include DENSO, a major auto parts supplier for Toyota Motor Corporation, and the round features a $35.6 million syndicated loan. Founded in 2021 by AI developer issei yamamoto, Turing employs about 85 people and is developing an AI-based autonomous driving system. The company plans to launch its fully autonomous system in commercial vehicles by 2029 and is collaborating with NVIDIA on end-to-end autonomous driving. Bone AI has raised $12 million to develop AI-powered robotics aimed at challenging Asia's defense giants. The startup, based in Seoul and Palo Alto, focuses on creating autonomous vehicles for defense and government clients, starting with aerial drones. Bone AI was founded by DK Lee, who previously co-founded MarqVision (YC S21), and has already secured a seven-figure B2G contract. The company acquired a South Korean drone company, D-Makers, to integrate its AI models with existing technology. Tethys Robotics has raised €3.5 million in pre-seed funding to advance its autonomous underwater drone technology. The funding round was led by Redstone and included investments from several other firms, including Alpine VC and the ETH Foundation. Tethys ONE, the company's drone, is designed for underwater inspection and maintenance, capable of operating at depths of up to 300 meters with advanced AI navigation.
