Your Voice Doesn't Just Echo—It Shapes the Future
👋 Hi everyone, I'm Lavine from the Human Resources Department at ThunderSoft (TS) headquarters. I'm delighted to be invited here to share my story and some of my insights with you all.
🎓 From Psychology to Corporate HR
Last summer, I earned my master's degree in Psychology from Tsinghua University, following my undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto.
Many have asked me why not choosing a career in psychology-related field after graduation and instead went into corporate HR. To be honest, it was partly a stroke of luck and partly, I suppose, fate.
💡 Meeting ThunderSoft
I still remember one day before graduation—buried under a mountain of notifications—a message from a job platform popped up:
“ThunderSoft's HR is waiting for your reply.”
Upon reviewing the job descriptions, I saw a role packed with diverse challenges, solid training programs, and rotational opportunities, which seemed like a great platform for growth for a fresh graduate like me.
Then came a series of communications and interviews. In the second-round interview, the interviewer, Vivi, who later became my mentor, gave me a detailed introduction to the company, the job responsibilities, and the career paths ahead. This made me see more clearly how much TS could accelerate my growth and solidified my decision to join TS. Reflecting on this choice, I remain profoundly grateful. As my first job, the experience at TS didn’t just sharpen my skills—it shaped my career values and gifted me lessons for life.
🤝 Deepening the Bond
In my early days at TS, guided by Vivi's patient instruction and her gentle yet powerful words, I gradually got to know the company. Although people rarely explicitly talk about what TS is like, I noticed some interesting phenomena: like how during heated discussions, you can’t tell who’s the leader and who’s the junior; or how that colleague displaying exceptional professionalism actually just graduated a year ago; or how you'll overhear someone confidently chatting in accented-but-fluent foreign languages with global teammates.
At that time, I sensed something unique about TS but struggled to articulate it. Now, after nearly a year here, I can finally concretize its uniqueness:
What Makes TS Unique?
🔓 Openness Fresh perspectives are truly valued. Within three months, I was already attending meetings with the CEO and senior execs—and my voice mattered.
🌍 Diversity People from different countries and backgrounds unite around shared goals, building something bigger than themselves.
🚀 Hypergrowth TS throws us at "impossible" challenges, encourages experimentation, and watches us thrive beyond boundaries.
🌱 Growing with ThunderSoft
The most valuable assets TS has given me are limitless opportunities and unbreakable team bonds.
Starting in Organizational Development (OD), I gained access to many senior leaders—an extraordinary opportunity to absorb strategic wisdom and reshape my professional lens. Learning their perspectives and wisdom was transformative for a fresh graduate like me. Months later, I transitioned to work on Employer Branding & Culture, with my prior-gained knowledge and enthusiasm for this new role. A leader here once remarked,
“The best work comes from loving what you do.”
Luckily, over the past few months, I've grown to love this job and the value and recognition it brings, as well as the team that always back me up on those struggling days.
Prior to TS, I never imagined a workplace where transparency and openness thrive so authentically, or where colleagues could evolve into trusted allies. Now, I’m excited to see what surprises await in the years ahead.
