Take the Chance: One Leap Can Change Everything

Take the Chance: One Leap Can Change Everything

There’s a moment in every woman’s life when she feels the quiet pull of something more. A whisper: What if I backed myself? What if I chose courage over comfort?

Every defining chapter in my life has come from saying yes to that whisper , moving countries, stepping into a my husband’s business, rebuilding after crisis, launching new ideas, and creating Women in Cafes and Restaurants with nothing more than belief and intent.

But one moment changed the course of my journey entirely.

The Room That Shifted Everything

In 2022, I was invited by Annie Zhang to the Commonwealth Bank @womeninfocus conference. I walked in not knowing how transformative those days would be.

Sitting in a room filled with extraordinary women and hearing leaders like Colleen Callander Christine Holgate and Barbara Pease, to name a few, lit something in me. Their stories of resilience, leadership and purpose made me realise that I, too, could create meaningful impact. Not just in my business, but in the lives of women around me.

That room expanded what I believed was possible.

The Power of the Leap

People often think confidence comes first. It doesn’t. The leap comes first, confidence arrives because you dared to begin.

Taking a chance on yourself is uncomfortable, uncertain, and sometimes lonely, but it’s also where growth, clarity, and identity are forged.

Had I not walked into that room in 2022, Women in Cafes and Restaurants might never have been born. My voice might still be quiet. My purpose might still be waiting.

Your Reminder Today

To any woman sitting on the edge of a decision, an idea, or a dream:

Bet on yourself. Even when it’s scary. You don’t need perfect timing,  just the courage to start.

One leap. One yes. One room. That’s all it takes to change everything.
