Navigating change, career confidence & the rise of AI

The workplace is evolving at full speed. From learning how to build confidence in an AI-driven world to finding ways to manage burnout during a job search, professionals everywhere are navigating big changes. At the same time, new tools like LinkedIn’s integration with CapCut are making it easier to share your work, while the AI in Action series highlights how individuals and companies are using artificial intelligence to create fresh opportunities. This week’s edition brings together expert advice, practical tools and real-world stories to help you stay focused and future-ready.

Building confidence in an AI world with LinkedIn Career Expert Catherine Fisher

Workplace expectations are climbing, change feels constant and the rise of AI is adding both opportunity and pressure. It is no surprise that more professionals are speaking openly about feeling stretched thin. In this interview, LinkedIn Career Expert Catherine Fisher discusses LinkedIn’s latest research and explains why human advice remains irreplaceable in an AI-driven world, the small steps anyone can take to strengthen their network and how to build confidence without burning out.

The study found an 82 percent increase in posts on LinkedIn about feeling overwhelmed and navigating change this year. What do you think this says about the emotional climate of the workplace? You can feel the pressure in almost every workplace right now. Expectations keep rising, change does not let up, and AI has brought its own set of demands. It’s no wonder people are talking about feeling stretched. What strikes me is that they are willing to post about it. To me, that shows professionals want room to be honest about the toll work is taking on them, and they want to hear that they’re not the only ones.

Professionals say their network is the No. 1 source of advice, ahead of AI and search. What makes human advice so uniquely valuable in today’s world of instant information? Human advice gives you something AI cannot replicate: lived experience. Talking to someone you trust will get you the story of what they tried, how it felt and what they would do differently. That’s the kind of context that helps you act with more confidence. Seventy-nine percent of professionals globally told us they see human advice as irreplaceable, and I agree completely. Big decisions at work feel clearer once you've heard how another person approached them.

If someone wants to strengthen their network but does not know where to start, what small steps can they take on LinkedIn today? The easiest place to begin is with one simple check-in. Comment on something a colleague shared, or drop a quick note to say congratulations. It doesn’t need to be big. The point is to show up regularly so your network hears from you more than once a year. Over time, that rhythm makes the relationship feel natural. I try to treat this the same way I would keep up with a friend: a quick hello, passing along an article or just letting them know I was thinking of them.

For someone feeling overwhelmed by AI expectations, what is the first step they can take to build confidence without burning out? Fifty-one percent of professionals globally say learning AI feels like a second job, so you’re not the only one feeling rising expectations! To get started, narrow your focus. Pick one tool or one skill that feels relevant to your work, and give yourself time to get comfortable with it. The good news is you don’t need to master everything at once, and you don’t have to do it alone. Ask a colleague what’s worked for them, trade tips or share what you’re trying. Confidence grows faster in those small exchanges, and it takes the pressure off doing it all by yourself.

How do you personally stay confident and focused amid so much change? For me, it starts with cutting through the noise. There’s so much information flying at us and I’ve learned I need to sort what matters from what does not. I set aside time to read, to learn and to ask sharper questions that get me real answers. I also pay attention to voices that are not a mirror of my own. Peers and colleagues often give me a perspective that resets how I see a challenge. That mix of focus, curiosity and perspective keeps me steady and helps me keep moving forward.

Managing Burnout During the Job Hunt

The job search can feel draining, especially when so much of the process is outside of your control. Focusing on the steps you can take each day is one way to stay motivated and reduce stress. That includes how many messages you send to recruiters or target companies, the networking events you attend and the contacts you make, and how well you tailor each application and resume.

Reframing the job hunt this way shifts the focus to actions that bring you closer to a “yes”.

LinkedIn partners with CapCut to streamline video sharing

LinkedIn recently partnered with CapCut, one of the world’s most popular video editing apps, to make it easier to share work-related videos. Now, after editing a video in the CapCut mobile app, you can publish it directly to LinkedIn in just two taps, without the hassle of exporting.

Videos shared from CapCut are treated the same as any video posted on LinkedIn, which means they can be considered for inclusion in video trends such as workplace stories, industry news and career advice. This creates more opportunities to reach the right audience and highlight professional expertise.

The integration is available on mobile only and is not supported in Russia, China, India, Iran or Iraq.

1. Make sure you have the latest versions of LinkedIn and CapCut installed

2. Check out the video above from Lakshman Somasundaram and click on the “Made in CapCut” label: (https://lnkd.in/d3eGHHur)

3. Create your video using a template or start from scratch

4. Post directly to LinkedIn from CapCut in just two taps

AI in Action shows how professionals are turning hype into real impact

AI in Action sponsored by SAP is a LinkedIn page dedicated to cutting through the hype and showing how people and companies are using artificial intelligence today as it reshapes industries and redefines possibilities. The page features stories and use cases that highlight both innovation and opportunity, with perspectives from leading voices in the field.

One recent example from Allie K. Miller argues that AI works best when you treat it like an improv partner, not a magic eight-ball. Her five-step routine pushes you to feed more context, demand higher volume, force variety, iterate until the answers surprise you and then curate the best results. The payoff: hundreds of bold ideas to choose from instead of just a handful of safe ones.

Follow AI in Action to explore how professionals are navigating the AI era with clarity, confidence and creativity.

after 8 years as a verified member, LinkedIn has restricted my account to 10 connection requests per week for 4 months - with zero explanation. 15+ support tickets. All automated responses. "Wait a week. Detected by system." Nothing. I use LinkedIn for networking, business development, and career opportunities. This restriction has severely damaged my professional growth for FOUR MONTHS. Case #251016-007732 If LinkedIn can abandon an 8-year verified user with no explanation, no human review, and broken support - it can happen to anyone.
