Monthly Digest
Welcome to the first edition of Are We There Yet? — a curated roundup of our latest milestones, insights, and impact stories from around the globe.
We created this newsletter to keep you closer to the heart of inDrive’s mission and momentum – what we’re building and why it matters: whether it’s expanding access in key markets, amplifying our thought leadership, or showcasing how our purpose-driven approach translates into real-world growth.
In this issue:
- We highlight how bold voices and leadership are elevating inDrive’s brand and ecosystem reach.
- We report from the ground, where new hubs and strategic partnerships are deepening our presence and unlocking scale.
- And we share how our impact research and global visibility continue to differentiate us as a values-led company — with long-term relevance in underserved markets.
Let’s dive in.
🚀 In the Spotlight: Big Ideas, Bold Voices
Rethinking mobility for emerging markets
At MOVE 2025, our Chief Growth Businesses Officer, Andries Smit, shared how inDrive is challenging norms and creating people-first tech in fast-growing cities like Lima and Lagos.
Why women build better companies
Isabella Ghassemi-Smith, Head of the Aurora Tech Award, sat down with Authority Magazine to share 5 reasons why women build great companies — from scaling trust to designing with others in mind.
Women-led impact and access — now in your headphones
A powerful follow-up to last week’s post: Isabella Ghassemi-Smith joins The Tech Diplomacy Podcast to discuss the Aurora Tech Award, why women build with others in mind, and how access fuels opportunity.
Aurora Winner Spotlight
One of this year’s Aurora winners is building a startup that tackles stigma in reproductive health. This illustrates Ghassemi-Smith’s point (above) - that women build with others in mind. It also serves as a powerful reminder: when we back founders solving real problems, we amplify impact beyond tech.
📍 On the Ground: New Hubs & Expanding Access
Cebu Hub Launch
We officially broke ground on our first hub in the Visayas — a major step in supporting partner drivers and bringing fair, low-commission mobility to the Philippines.

A Case for Shareswaps
Calling all investors, venture capitalists, and startup founders/operators – check out the blog from New Ventures, inDrive's corporate venture capital and M&A arm, where they share market insights and their views on the venture ecosystem.

1moI tried several times to contact Mr. Ali Selim and requested a formal meeting to discuss what happened. I also sent him private messages through Slack, but received no response. In addition, I asked for the email addresses of Mr. Assem and Mr. Arslan to file an official complaint with higher management, but Mr. Abanoub refused to provide them and deliberately ignored my requests. Even some colleagues avoided helping or sharing these contacts. All the manipulation and unfair treatment I faced was directly caused and managed by Mr. Abanoub, whose actions resulted in significant professional and emotional harm to me, and therefore require serious investigation.

1moPlease note that this is a brief summary of what happened, and there are more details and incidents supported by evidence that I am ready to provide upon request for a formal review or investigation.

1moTo: InDriver Management / HR Department Subject: Complaint Regarding Unfair Dismissal Dear Sir/Madam, I’m writing to express my deep disappointment over the unfair treatment that led to my sudden dismissal — without valid reason, warning, or proper procedure. I was a committed employee in Customer Support, known for professionalism, dedication, and respect toward both colleagues and clients. Yet I was abruptly informed that I’m no longer part of the team, with no clear explanation — only false promises that my CV would be sent elsewhere. No one accepts injustice, for themselves or others. Cutting off a person’s livelihood, especially with family responsibilities, is not minor. I gave my best to this job and expected fairness in return. I kindly request a fair review of this decision and steps to prevent such unfairness in the future. Sincerely, Alaa Ramadan Customer Support (Former) Contact: 01557666627 Date: 21/10/2025
