I’ve seen a lot of eCommerce SEO checklists floating around on LinkedIn lately, the ones that focus on keyword mapping, title optimisation, and meta descriptions. Those things matter. They’re part of the fundamentals. But to be honest, they’re more hygiene tasks than growth drivers. They help keep your site tidy and functional, but they don’t usually move the needle on visibility, traffic, or revenue for organic channel. When it comes to real performance gains in eCommerce SEO, it usually comes down to structure and intent. Here’s what actually makes a difference in my experience: - Taxonomy strategy: building category hierarchies that reflect how users search and how products are discovered. A strong taxonomy improves crawl efficiency, internal linking, and topical relevance. - Collection expansion: spotting opportunities to grow reach based on search demand and inventory. - Internal linking systems: built with purpose to strengthen authority and help users and crawlers find what matters. - Content for PLPs and PDPs: written to add value, support conversion, and deepen topical coverage. That’s where the real growth happens. That’s what compounds over time. SEO fundamentals and technical SEO 100% still matter. They form the base and are important.
