We believe every user has the right to use the AI of their choice. Amazon wants to block Comet users from using AI assistants to shop on their platform, and they are now using legal threats to do so. But we will not be intimidated. https://lnkd.in/e3DfyU5c
Honestly… why would I use your AI to buy something on Amazon?
Blocking user agents isn’t protection, it’s control. The future is user-first.
Open AI ecosystems should empower choice, not control. If users can’t decide which AI helps them shop, it’s not innovation, it’s gatekeeping
Amazon is a proprietary software company not an open source foundation. As a company it is obvious and valid that they have every right to choose to block any level of automation that comes with your browser. I think the consumer is the best decision maker in such cases. Let them decide if they want to stop using Amazon for Comet or the other way round.
Frankly I stopped using Amazon many years ago. The world is plenty of good, small and mid size e-commerce. Decentralization is the way. Focus on that! Comet Power 💪🏼 🎉
It's their platform, so they can do whatever they want and block Comet. Besides, after having stolen everything from the arts, literature and technical knowledge without giving anything back, Perplexity rant is utterly ridiculous.
The gloves are off. Big Tech is fighting dirty.
Doesn’t Alexia use AI to autonomously make purchases on behalf of its users? Sounds more like protecting their own system rather than its users.
Why don't you just have a word with your angel investor Jeff Bezos?

2wlet’s not say rights. Fundamental rights are always Free. I am sure none of these AI service will be always free. Plus they have built an ecosystem of there own. How does entering someone’s ecosystem without permission becomes a right? While I love perplexity but such posts coming from the official page doesn’t make a lot of sense technically.
