Testing is complete! The LS Core 2.0 Common Simulation Software (CSS) has been delivered and is entering into service. The CSS has proven its ability to deliver flexible, high-fidelity and connected training that reflects real-world Army operations. Scalable, adaptable and ready, it provides a modern foundation for Defence training networks. We’re excited to begin the next phase, rolling out the CSS to Army training centres across Australia. The success of the LS Core 2.0 program is built on teamwork. This achievement is the result of close collaboration between Applied Virtual Simulation, MAK Technologies and Australian Army. Together, we have created a unified software environment that links simulation systems, vehicles and weapons, enabling realistic and connected training anywhere in the country. The CSS will now be rolled out across Defence simulation training centres throughout Australia bringing connected and persistent virtual training to more soldiers than ever before.

A new era for the Australian Defence Force The rollout of LS Core 2.0's Common Simulation Software (CSS) marks a shift away from bespoke systems to a unified, sovereign simulation environment. While the name VBS is synonymous with military virtual training, the Australian Army is moving forward with a new enterprise standard. This new CSS, built on the MAK ONE suite, is designed not just to render virtual worlds, but to be the fundamental LVC architecture that connects every soldier, vehicle, and command center into a single, federated training battlespace.
Announcement time - again! A proud moment for Applied Virtual Simulation as the Common Simulation Software (CSS) delivered under LS Core 2.0 T1 successfully completes testing with the Australian Army. This milestone marks a major step forward in delivering a sovereign simulation backbone that connects soldiers, vehicles and command teams within one powerful training environment. The CSS is now ready for use in training and is entering into service for use by the #Australian Army - whether in desktop virtual simulation, constructive CPX, or in the next generation of high-fidelity simulators. Thanks to our partners MAK Technologies!!!! If you want to know more - feel free to drop by booth 3J84 this week at #indopac2025 and talk to our CEO Paul Rogers or our GM Operations Stephen Collison

Even for a simple task of driving, the need to assess, scan, and mentally rehearse contingencies before merging. It’s not paranoia, its hypervigilance, it's a trained response for adaptation. Military training hardwires us to read environments differently. And when we transition to civilian life, that hyper-awareness doesn’t just switch off. Veterans adapt constantly: from combat zones to classrooms, from briefing rooms to boardrooms. We don’t just “fit in” we recalibrate. Student veterans know this well. Sitting near exits, choosing seats with clear sightlines, scanning syllabi like mission briefs, it’s all part of the process. And for higher ed professionals: this is why your veteran students might seem hypervigilant or overly prepared. Adaptation is our strength. Humor is our release. And community is our anchor. So next time you see a vet eyeballing a highway ramp like it’s a tactical chokepoint, just know that they’re not stuck in the past, they’re mastering the present.

Incredible progress by the U.S. Army, driving the Synthetic Training Environment (STE) forward. The advances in virtual and integrated training systems are redefining readiness, realism, and scalability for the Soldier. Proud to see this momentum across the training enterprise. The Cole Engineering team is honored to partner with the U.S. Army to support the mission of connecting live, virtual, and constructive environments. #ColeEngineering #ByLight #STE #TrainingTransformation #Readiness #Innovation
Check out this scene from Fort Hood: soldiers running high-fidelity Cole Engineering Services, Inc. (CESI), a By Light Company simulators in a virtual training hub, prepping for real world operations. • Simulation at the point of need saves time, risk & cost. • Vehicles, crews & systems training in a dynamic, virtual environment = true readiness for complex operations. • Training is evolving from “after fielding” to “while fielding” → faster, smarter, integrated. When virtual training becomes part of the front-line journey, readiness jumps ahead. #MilitaryTraining #Simulation #Training #DefenseTech #Readiness #ModernWarfare #STE #RVCT https://lnkd.in/gJaTpBqZ
