Regularly keeping abreast of developments in the not-for-profit sector is something I believe to be a productive use of my spare time, especially as I maintain several active memberships within incorporated associations. Although likely being interpreted as arising from me having "too much spare time"—my search for a fulfilling job is ongoing—it can fall to those with the time to invest in reading to glean what others have missed initially. Consequently, gleaned from the latest edition of the Associations Forum's magazine, this featured article written by Raniya Dass from Governology has made me ponder the true value of individual members to associations. It is a reminder that an association must actively provide its members with a pathway to raise matters of concern to them and to have an input into the governance of the organization that they have chosen to contribute to. https://lnkd.in/gSnv4C4D
Glad to hear that the article resonated with you, it’s encouraging to see these governance principles being reflected on.
