At Amazon, our Leadership Principles guide everything we do, from the biggest strategic decisions to everyday interactions with colleagues and customers. Most importantly, they connect us across teams, time zones, and functions. Whether you're in Seattle or São Paulo, whether you've been here 20 years or 20 days, these principles create a shared language for how we work, learn, and grow together. Watch to see how we’re living a few of these Leadership Principles in the office. Which Leadership Principle resonates most with you? Share your favorite in the comments, or let us know which ones you'd like to see featured in Part 2!
“Having backbone: disagree and commit” was out of office that day
"I didn't like the way you were sitting on the chair during the interview" - That's my feedback from Senior safety manager for a level 3 Safety Technician position which I've applied after 5 years of dedication, passion and experience in Health and safety at Amazon. Not the principles, not the merit, not the results, not the practical approach towards safety, but personal grudges and discrimination.
Yes! As I live and breathe! Love this, Vicki.
Your drivers are liars. Claimed they tried delivery and couldn’t. I was tracking them on your own app. They didn’t even come down my street. Customer care is just as bad. They said they would make sure it was delivered today. It’s 9:43 and NOTHING. I think I’ll end my prime and start using Walmart!
Nezar and Vicki …… great work!
Ownership and customer obsession
A creative video
"Customer Obsession is the ultimate compass. It simplifies complex decisions and ensures every team, regardless of function, is rowing in the same direction. Would love to see 'Learn and Be Curious' in Part 2
That's a fun way to bring the Leadership Principles to life! I hope someone wasn't asked to "Deliver Results" while trying to navigate that human obstacle course! Jokes aside, it's awesome to see Amazon truly living these principles and not just hanging them on a wall. Definitely interested in Part 2! Which principle is your personal favorite?

1wI didn't know Amazon had cheerleaders. AI must have freed up time to have fun for those who weren't laid off. I've seen team building with Microsoft but I don't remember them dancing around.
