Items that simply list “natural flavors” on the label, can still be highly processed with FDA-allowed additives such as preservatives, solvents and emulsifiers “natural flavors” only refers to how a flavor was sourced, not how it’s treated after it’s extracted FDA does not require these flavorings to specify which plant or animal they’ve been derived from Natural flavors do come from plant and animal-based sources, while artificial flavors are created using organic compounds (think: strawberry flavor that was not extracted from an actual strawberry). https://lnkd.in/giJfaq_K

Despite its nutritional value, current applications within food and petfood are limited due to the low shelf life of the moist BSG. Duynie has developed a patented separation technology that prolongs shelf life and breaks BSG down into its component parts. The result is a protein component with a significantly higher protein content. Another difference between the co-product BSG and our upcycled protein concentrate is the quality.
