Enable or disable applicant evaluation for Hiring Assistant

Last updated: 3 weeks ago

Who can use this feature?

Hiring Assistant is available as an add-on for LinkedIn Recruiter and LinkedIn Recruiter Professional Services Plus (RPS+) customers. To use Hiring Assistant, you must be assigned the Hiring Assistant Permission and set your language preference to English. We’re gradually making this experience available, and you might not have access to it at this time. Learn more about Hiring Assistant here.

Hiring Assistant in LinkedIn Recruiter can evaluate applicants and summarize how their qualifications match job requirements.

Hiring Assistant uses your hiring requirements to evaluate applicants and begin sourcing. You can approve qualifications and begin sourcing candidates or evaluating applicants by following the suggested prompts in the chat interface with Hiring Assistant.

This feature is enabled by default at the contract level and applies to all users on the contract. As an admin, you can turn this setting on or off.

To enable or disable applicant evaluation for Hiring Assistant:

  1. Move your cursor over your profile picture at the top of your Recruiter homepage and select Product settings from the dropdown.

  2. Click Preferences on the left pane.

  3. Next to Enable Hiring Assistant applicant evaluation, click Edit.

  4. Click On to enable applicant evaluation or click Off to disable applicant evaluation.

  5. Click Save.

Notes:

  • If you disable applicant evaluation and later re-enable it:
    • Hiring Assistant will only evaluate new applicants who applied after re-enabling the feature.
    • Applicants who applied during the time it was disabled won’t be automatically evaluated. To reevaluate applicants who applied while the setting was off, go to the Applicants page of the project, click the Hiring Assistant icon in the left pane, open the Activity log, and click Reevaluate.
  • When enabled, Hiring Assistant will evaluate applicants and provide summaries across all projects. Projects created while the setting was disabled will resume evaluations unless a recruiter manually disabled evaluation at the project level.
