Park a license in LinkedIn Admin Center for Recruiter

Last updated: 2 months ago

Park a license to manage user licenses. Parking a license in LinkedIn Recruiter refers to the process of temporarily removing a Recruiter user’s access to the dashboard, keeping the user’s work on the dashboard, and freeing up the user’s license for availability. Parking a license will change an activated user’s license status to Parked.

Who can use this feature?

Only users with Product Settings and Account Center Admin permission type can manage licenses, roles, and permissions in LinkedIn Recruiter. To better secure your account, we encourage you to have a back-up admin by assigning the Product Settings and Account Center Admin permission to one or more current or new users on the dashboard. This allows an additional user to manage your contract if you depart the company or go on extended leave.

Important to know

The Product Settings and Account Center Admin permission type is automatically configured within the Recruiter Admin and Dashboard Manager Admin preset roles. However, you can also apply the permission type within a custom role. Applying this permission type to a custom role allows you to assign an admin that can perform user and license management activities, without using a paid license. To configure this custom role, select the Hiring Collaborator License and the Product Settings and Account Center Admin additional permission setting.

Here's a tip

Only users with the Activated license status on the dashboard can be parked. Users with an Invited license status haven't accepted their invitation yet and therefore can't be parked.

To park a license without reassigning a user's work:

  1. Sign in to Recruiter.

  2. Move your cursor over your profile picture at the top of your Recruiter homepage and select Manage users in Admin Center from the dropdown.

  3. In the Users tab, find the user whose license you want to park (remove).

You can filter by License type, License status, and Groups. You can also search by name and email using the search box above the user list.

  4. Click the More icon to the right of the user whose license you want to park.
  5. Select Park from the dropdown.

After you park a license, you can:

  • Reassign: By reassigning a parked user’s license, you will move all of the user’s work to the reassigned user. Reassigning a parked license will change the license status of the reassigned user to Activated, and will remove the parked user from the dashboard.
  • Unpark: Unparking a license refers to the process of restoring a Recruiter user’s access to the dashboard, while restoring the user’s work on the dashboard. After a license is unparked, the user can resume their original work with their reactivated license. The license status of the user will change from Parked to Activated.
  • Assign (add new user): Parking a license will free up a license’s availability. If you don't want to reassign all of the parked user’s work, you can opt to assign a license that doesn't have any data on it by clicking Add new users.

If you want to reassign a user’s work after parking the user, then follow the steps to reassign the license.

Important to know

Keep in mind that the number of times a license can be parked is limited. This limit varies per contract. For example, an organization with 15 seats is allowed to park 15 licenses every 30 days. Limits reset every 30 days from the organization’s contract start date and any unused park actions don’t carry over to the next month.
