Create single image ads for an Accelerate ad set

Create single image ads for your Accelerate ad set, including an image, headline, introductory text, and either a destination URL or Lead Gen Form depending on your objective. With Accelerate, you can use AI to help you draft ads for your ad set.

Who can use this feature?

You must have super admin, content admin, or Sponsored Content poster access on your ad account's Page and creative manager access or higher on your ad account to add ads to an Accelerate ad set. 

To create a single image ad for your Accelerate ad set, you must either create a new Accelerate ad set or edit an existing Accelerate ad set.  

Create a new ad

To create a new single image ad for your ad set:

  1. From the review page of your Accelerate ad set, scroll to the Image ads section.

  2. Click the Create ad  dropdown menu and select Create new ad.

    • If there aren’t any ads in the ad set, click the Create new ad button instead. 
  3. Optional: Click the Draft with AI button to generate a draft of your ad’s introductory text and headline. Accelerate also suggests an image by using AI to score and rank images from your media library and Shutterstock.

  4. Add, review, or edit the following parts of your ad:

    • Introductory text - Enter or change the text in this field to manage what text is displayed above your ad’s image.  
    • Headline - Enter or change the text in this field to manage what text is displayed below your ad’s image. 
    • Media - Click the dropdown menu to upload an image, use a free Shutterstock image, browse your media library, or remove the image. You can also click the Customize button to open the Microsoft Designer editor to customize your image.  
    • Description (optional) – Enter or change the text in this field to add a description. The ad description provides more info to people who see your ad. The ad description will not be visible in most scenarios and only appears for a small portion of LinkedIn members, such as those viewing it on the LinkedIn Audience Network (if enabled). 
    • Call to action – Use the dropdown menu to select from available call-to-action buttons. 
  5. Optional: Create more ads for your ad set by clicking the Create new ad button on the left side of the pop-up window.

  6. Optional: Preview how your ad will appear on different devices by clicking the dropdown menu below Preview on the right side of the page.

  7. Click the Save ads button to add the ads to your ad set.

Browse existing content

To browse from existing content to select from your Page’s posts and previously created ads: 

  1. From the review page of your Accelerate ad set, scroll to the Image ads section. 

  2. Click the Create ad  dropdown menu and select Browse existing content.

    • If there aren’t any ads in the ad set, click the Browse existing content button instead. 
  3. Use the Source and Content type dropdown menus to filter the content shown. 

  4. Select the checkboxes to the left of the ads you’d like to add to your ad set. 

  5. Click the Sponsor button in the lower-right corner. 

When you’re ready, you can launch your new ad set or save changes to an existing ad set. Your ads will be reviewed and, if approved, are displayed based on the settings of your ad set. We strive to review ads and forms as soon as possible and usually within 24 hours.

Here's a tip

You can see how your ad will appear in the feed by clicking the  More icon and then Show in feed. A new tab will open in your browser that shows how your ad could appear in someone’s feed.
