The maximum delivery (automated bidding) strategy uses machine learning to automatically bid for you while aiming to maximize the efficiency of your LinkedIn advertising budget. Based on your marketing objective, maximum delivery automatically adjusts your bid to deliver the most key results, such as clicks, impressions, conversions, or sends possible with your total budget.
Maximum delivery isn't available for ad sets that use Dynamic ad (jobs ads, spotlight ads, or follower ads) formats. Maximum delivery is available for all advertising objectives. The bid is optimized for the optimization goal selected in the bidding section of the campaign or ad set setup.

• We recommend selecting maximum delivery bidding to gain an understanding of the performance potential of your entire budget. For example, how many results the campaign or ad set can generate for your budget.
• Use the cost cap bidding strategy to better control the cost per result.
• If your ad set has a large budget and small audience size, we might show your ad to the same member more than once. This can result in a higher frequency and lower reach.

Accelerated delivery

Accelerated delivery is currently being tested, and we’re gradually making it available, so you might not have access to it at this time.
Accelerated delivery can be used with maximum bidding if you’ve selected the engagement objective for your ad set. Accelerated delivery maximizes reach and delivery during a live event and works to deliver your budget to your target audience as quickly as possible. Keep in mind that accelerated delivery is only available for:
- Classic ad sets
- The engagement objective which supports all bidding strategies, or the website visits objective that only supports manual bidding
- The event ad format
- Lifetime budget
You’ll also need to create two or three Classic event ad sets to run an end-to-end live event ad promotion incorporating accelerated delivery.
