When you advertise on LinkedIn using a credit card, your billing frequency is determined automatically. You don’t need to set it manually and you can’t currently change it. Instead, LinkedIn uses a payment threshold system to decide when to charge your account.
About payment thresholds
Your payment threshold is the amount of ad spend you can accrue before LinkedIn charges your credit card. As you continue to make successful payments and clear your balances, the payment threshold may be raised, and you get billed less frequently.
- When you first start advertising on LinkedIn, your payment threshold is automatically set to $100.
- Your payment threshold is an indicator of your payment history with LinkedIn.
How credit card billing frequency works
Your billing frequency depends on how quickly your ad spend reaches your current threshold. If your spend exceeds the threshold, you’ll be charged the next day. If it doesn’t, any remaining balance is charged on the first day of the following month.

If your ad account is set in a currency other than USD, the threshold may vary based on regional currency values.
Alternate payment method options
If you need help reducing the number of transactions you have for LinkedIn Ads, you might qualify for monthly invoicing if your Business Manager qualifies. Your Business Manager may qualify for invoicing if:
- Your business’s ad accounts have been added to your Business Manager and have spent at least $3,000 on LinkedIn Ads in two consecutive months during the last year.
- You already have ad accounts with monthly invoicing in Business Manager.
If you qualify, you can contact LinkedIn support or your LinkedIn Sales Representative to request access to the monthly invoicing application in Business Manager.
