This week in Sacramento, the VetsinTech community came together for a soft launch meetup at Urban Roots Brewery & Smokehouse. Veterans, military spouses, and partners from across the region gathered to connect, share their tech journeys, and learn more about the resources VIT provides across education, employment, and entrepreneurship. A big thank you to Sacramento Chapter Lead Daryl L. for organizing and hosting this first gathering. The energy and engagement from the local community made it a strong start as the chapter begins to take shape. We’re looking forward to seeing the Sacramento community continue to grow with more meetups and new opportunities ahead. DraftKings Inc. has helped train more than 1,200 members of our community and has contributed over $3M since 2018 to expand access to high-demand tech skills. Honoring veterans on the field is powerful. Helping them build stable, long-term careers is even more so. Appreciative of partners like DraftKings Inc. who stay committed to both. This Veterans Day, we’re proud to honor those who have served—through storytelling and recognition. Since 2018, DraftKings S.E.R.V.E.S. has contributed over $3M to support veterans and their spouses with training in today's tech landscape. Last week's Thursday Night Football game highlighted this collaboration with VetsinTech by featuring veteran graduates of our program, who are now building careers in tech—and using their skills in new ways beyond their military service. To all veterans across DraftKings and beyond: thank you for your service, your leadership, and the value you bring into everything you do.

Honored to celebrate Veterans Day and proud to see this launch from OpenAI supporting our veteran community. As a veteran and someone deeply invested in empowering those transitioning from military to tech careers, I love seeing initiatives like this. It offers a free year of ChatGPT Plus to U.S. service members and veterans within their first year after separation. Tools like ChatGPT can be transformative for career transitions, entrepreneurship, and learning new skills. It is powerful to see veterans shaping solutions that help others succeed. Happy Veterans Day to all who have served and continue to lead, build, and inspire. 🇺🇸 Vikki L. VetsinTech Katherine Webster Craig Newmark #VeteransDay #OpenAI #VetsInTech #VeteransInTech
As Veterans Day approaches, I’m especially proud to share something meaningful that just launched at OpenAI. U.S. service members within 12 months of separation or retirement, and veterans in their first year after leaving the military, can now receive a free year of ChatGPT Plus. This program was shaped by veterans at OpenAI who have lived this transition firsthand. I shared my own experience from leaving the Army and how different things could have been with tools like ChatGPT, and seeing that perspective help shape this initiative has been incredibly rewarding. If you or someone you know is navigating this shift, here is the link to get started: https://lnkd.in/gpHUvNu4 Grateful today and every day for those who have served and for everyone helping build what comes next. 🇺🇸 #openai #veteransday

On this Veterans Day, we pause to honor the extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of our nation's veterans and military spouses. Today, we celebrate not only their service to our country, but also the incredible resilience they demonstrate as they transition into civilian life and forge new paths forward. At VetsinTech, we are deeply inspired by these remarkable individuals and remain committed to supporting their success in the technology sector. Through our focus on education, employment, and entrepreneurship, we're creating meaningful pathways for veterans and military spouses to build thriving careers in tech. None of this would be possible without our valued partners - DraftKings Inc., Adobe Foundation, J.P. Morgan, and Craig Newmark Philanthropies. Their steadfast support empowers us to expand our reach and create tangible opportunities for the military community we're privileged to serve. We're grateful for their partnership and the profound impact it has on veterans and their families. To all who have served: Thank you. Your sacrifice matters.
