Making Movement Count: Sweatcoin’s Anton Derlyatka speaks with RJ Lumba Most people struggle to stay active long enough for it to matter. Anton Derlyatka, Co-Founder and CEO of Sweatcoin, built the app around a hard truth in healthcare: most behavior-change tools assume high motivation, yet a large share of the world is inactive. Instead of relying on motivation or constant engagement, he and his team focused on a low-friction approach that makes daily movement easier to start and sustain. Sweatcoin now serves more than 200 million users and consistently increases daily activity by about 20% over time. The app captures steps passively from a phone’s native sensors, verifies them for accuracy, and converts them into small incentives that encourage consistent movement with minimal user interaction. Many join for the rewards, but the habit that forms over time becomes the defining benefit. It’s also beginning to extend into clinical settings. Sweatcoin recently partnered with Novo Nordisk to support patients using GLP-1 therapies by giving them a practical structure for regular activity, where long-term outcomes depend as much on consistency as on medication. As it scales, Sweatcoin is proving out a model built on everyday motion—steady enough to matter, lightweight enough to keep. Advancing Chronic Disease Treatment: Vivani Medical’s Adam Mendelsohn speaks with RJ Lumba Obesity and diabetes treatments often fail at the same point: the patient stops taking the drug. Adam Mendelsohn, CEO of Vivani Medical, is betting that tiny, long-acting implants can fix that. Vivani is developing subdermal GLP-1 (semaglutide) implants designed to deliver a smooth dose for roughly six months at a time, aiming to solve two hard problems at once: medication adherence and tolerability. Built on the company’s NanoPortal platform, the device uses a nanoporous membrane to control release from a small reservoir, opening a path for peptide drugs that haven’t fit well with traditional implant technologies. Mendelsohn lays out why Vivani shifted from a broad “platform” story to focusing 90% of the company on a GLP-1 drug–device product, how they’re using the 505(b)(2) pathway to shorten development by leveraging existing semaglutide data, and why the ability to stop treatment by removing the implant addresses a limitation of long-acting injectables. For anyone following obesity care, drug delivery, or combination products, it’s a detailed look at a very different way to deliver GLP-1s. Expanding Autism Care Access: Positive Development’s Mike Suiters speaks with RJ Lumba Few areas of healthcare remain as under-served, or as deeply personal, as autism care. For Mike Suiters, Co-Founder and CEO of Positive Development, the journey began with a simple realization while working in venture capital: the most common intervention for autism, applied behavior analysis, was costly and often failed to meet the needs of all children. Drawing on both professional insight and family experience with neurodivergence, he set out to create an alternative model rooted in developmental therapy. Positive Development combines speech, mental health, and occupational therapy within one framework, delivered through a lower-intensity, relationship-based approach focused on play, curiosity, and family participation. The model is evidence-based and economically sustainable—costing roughly half of traditional ABA programs while expanding access for families across seven states and the District of Columbia. Supported by investors including B Capital and Flare Capital, the company is now the largest provider of developmental therapy in the U.S., serving more than 1,000 families. Through its continued growth, Positive Development is advancing a system of care that sees neurodivergent children not through the lens of limitation, but of potential.
