  • Generic technology advice doesn't work in the life sciences. The stakes are different. The regulations are specific. The workflows are complex.  What works in other industries will often hurt you here. We've seen this play out repeatedly: ✔️ Quality processes that create bottlenecks instead of catching errors  ✔️ Data structures that can't support the analyses needed for submission  ✔️ Project plans that collapse when they hit validation requirements These aren't “bad” consultants. They're consultants without life sciences expertise. The difference shows up in experience. Someone who has worked through dozens of implementations knows where companies typically struggle. They've seen what breaks when you acquire another company. They understand which data decisions limit your options later. They're not learning your industry on your timeline. Domain expertise is the difference between technology that accelerates your work and technology that complicates it. #expertisedelivered  #lifesciences  #slipstream

  • Technology decisions in life sciences have long half-lives. Build a data warehouse with rigid assumptions and you'll be working around it indefinitely.  Skip documentation today and you'll spend months reconstructing your architecture tomorrow. Choose the wrong EDC and you're stuck with it for years. We've watched companies paint themselves into corners they didn't see coming. This pattern is avoidable. You don't need to predict exactly how your company will change. But you do need to build systems that can change with you. Future-proofing requires you to invest resources *strategically* so you're not rebuilding every time your business evolves. #expertisedelivered  #lifesciences  #slipstream

  • The worst technology decisions in life sciences start with an inspiring demo. The platform looks impressive and the capabilities seem endless. So you commit to an implementation before you've defined what problem you're actually solving. Six months later, you have a powerful system that doesn't quite fit how your team works. We've learned to start every engagement with questions, not solutions.  💡 What's breaking in your current process?   💡 Where are people spending time that doesn't add value?   💡 What's keeping you from making decisions faster? Sometimes the answer is a new platform. Often it's not. Maybe you need better integration between systems you already have. Maybe your team needs training on features they're not using. Maybe your data structure is the issue, not your technology. The right solution depends entirely on your specific situation.  Technology should serve your goals, not the other way around. #expertisedelivered  #lifesciences  #slipstream

  • Compliance doesn't have to slow you down. But it will if you treat it as something you add on at the end. Life sciences companies that move fastest build compliance into their foundation. Their EDC configurations are submission-ready from the first patient. Their standard operating procedures are written before they need them, not during an audit. Their quality checks happen in real-time, not in frantic weeks before a database lock. #expertisedelivered  #lifesciences  #slipstream

  • The technology that gets you to Phase 2 probably won't get you to market. Small life sciences orgs face an impossible choice:  A) Invest in enterprise systems before they have enterprise needs Or: B) Stay lean and plan for a challenging migration later There's a third option most companies miss. C) Build with intentional flexibility:    - Platforms that can handle 50 patients today and evolve to 5,000 tomorrow  - Data structures that don't need rebuilding when you add new sites  - Integrations that absorb new systems without breaking existing ones We've watched companies scale from 20 employees to 200 without touching their core infrastructure. Growth and success shouldn’t force you to start over. #expertisedelivered  #lifesciences  #slipstream

  • It’s not uncommon for life sciences companies to migrate their clinical data 3-4 times before they get it right. The pattern is predictable.  Rush the first migration to hit a deadline. Discover data integrity issues six months later. Spend the next year cleaning up what should have worked from the start. Here's what we've learned after countless migrations: The technical lift isn't the hard part.  It's understanding which data structures actually matter for your regulatory submissions. It's knowing how your statisticians will query the data two years from now. It's building in the flexibility for the acquisitions or therapeutic areas you'll add next year. Speed matters in life sciences. But not at the expense of doing it twice. #expertisedelivered  #lifesciences  #slipstream

Sometimes a study can completely change the way we think about a disease. Until recently, HHT, a rare hereditary bleeding disorder, was thought to be a disease of nose bleeds. Our Digital CRO team, in partnership with Komodo Health's Healthcare Map, found something very different: the cost of treating HHT in the US is nearly a half billion dollars a year, driven almost entirely by anemia. How did an initial study on nosebleeds come to such a different conclusion? 1) The Komodo Healthmap database identified more than 24,000 patients diagnosed with HHT, many times more than any previously published study. 2) The 60% prevalence of anemia was higher than previously understood, and much more severe with nearly half those patients requiring hematologic support with blood transfusions and iron infusions. 3) The data revealed significant end-organ damage from bleeding in the brain, lungs, liver, and GI tract. We followed the consequences of anemia to the associated healthcare costs, which included a 40-fold increase in risk for liver transplant. Together with Diagonal Therapeutics, we changed the way investors, biotech and patient advocates think about HHT. We showed what is possible when you combine data at scale, Digital CRO expertise, and an openness to go where the data take you. After years in life sciences technology, certain truths become clear. 💡 Success correlates more with team expertise than team structure. We've seen lean teams excel and large teams deliver brilliantly. The differentiator? Whether the people involved have relevant, hands-on experience with similar challenges. Consider your next systems integration or platform migration. Would you prioritize teams with dozens of successful implementations behind them, or those gaining experience during your critical timeline? The answer seems obvious, yet many organizations prioritize other factors when building project teams. Life Sciences, Accelerated. This means assembling teams based on experience fit, not just availability. Valuing practitioners who have navigated similar transitions. Recognizing that in life sciences, context and complexity require more than general technical skills. Build your teams around expertise. Everything else is secondary. #expertisedelivered  #lifesciences  #slipstream

  • The cost of slow in life sciences gets measured in lives. Not dollars. Every week your trial data sits in silos is a week lost to analysis. Every month your commercial systems delay is market share you won't recover. Every quarter your submission waits is hope deferred. Speed to insight: Can you see the signal through the noise? Speed to market: Will your infrastructure be ready when FDA says yes? Speed to impact: How fast can you scale from first patient to full launch? The difference between leaders and laggards? Leaders plan for speed before they need it. #expertisedelivered  #lifesciences  #slipstream
