Ever feel guilty tossing those chip bags, coffee pouches, and bubble wrap into the trash? You're not alone! Ridwell, a B Corp, is challenging our traditional recycling limitations by collecting what curbside programs won't take: flexible packaging, clamshells, foam cushioning, and other "unrecyclable" materials. Lisa McTigue Pierce, Executive Editor of Packaging Digest, learned about the company earlier this year at SPC Impact 2025; then followed up with Gerrine Pan, Ridwell’s VP of Partnerships, to dig deeper. Thank you, KOIN Local 6 News, for highlighting our new partnership with Ridwell to recycle old pickleballs into nursery planters, pipes, and more! We are so excited about this initiative and could use help from our members and visitors to make the biggest impact possible. Drop your old, damaged pickleballs off at either of our locations, and our friends at Ridwell will ensure they find a second life as something useful ♻️

Please join us in welcoming one of Reuse Minnesota's newest members, Ridwell! Ridwell makes it easy to shrink your waste footprint by recycling and reusing more stuff. In addition to working with innovative recyclers to make new goods out of hard-to-recycle materials like soft plastic film and crinkly plastic snack packaging, we pick up clutter-causing items right from your doorstep and work with 200+ non-profit organizations to get them into new hands. Every two weeks, we take something new—winter coats, eyeglasses, jewelry, pet essentials, and lots more. The Ridwell community of 120,000 households has saved more than 30 million pounds from landfills so far, just by filling a Ridwell bin with things they used to throw away. #reuse #ReuseMinnesotaMember

Real change happens when mission-driven communities team up... And Ridwell is proof! ♻️💪 Ridwell members have recycled an incredible 2,820 lbs of bras this year so far, helping us keep textiles out of landfills and get essentials to people who need them most. That’s the environmental equivalent of eliminating greenhouse gas emissions from the annual energy use of 4 homes. 🔌🏡 Ridwell makes it easy for households to waste less by collecting hard-to-recycle items from their doorstep. 🧡 Their commitment to sustainability and community action makes them a true force for good, and we’re proud to partner with them. Want to partner with us to measure your impact and align with sustainability standards? Get in touch 👉 contactus@brarecycling.com.

  • A mind-boggling 92 million tons of textile waste are produced globally each year. 👚👖 🌎 As part of Ridwell's ongoing commitment to helping households waste less, we will now pick up both rewearable and reusable textiles in distinct streams. This will enable Ridwell to continue to prioritize transparency and more efficiently get items to their “next best use.” Thanks to Marissa Heffernan and Resource Recycling, Inc. for covering the changes we're rolling out for our Threads category.

With millions of pounds of textiles coming to Ridwell's Threads service each year and thrift stores struggling with mountains of material they can't sell, the subscription recycling company is taking a new approach: source separation. In the coming month, customers across the U.S. will get two bags for textiles, said Gerrine Pan: one for re-wearable clothes “that you would gift a friend," the other for more worn-out items that can nonetheless be recycled in different ways. “A thrift store cannot actually resell a sock with holes in it, right? But that is frequently the textiles that are coming out of homes that we are trying to get rid of,” Pan said. “So from the operational side, we came to the conclusion that these have to be two separate streams.” Find out more about the company's new strategy below. https://lnkd.in/dyQqfBdw

A few of my favorite things! Elementary school students, recycling, and Ridwell! I often hear adults at work venting about how hard it is to know what to recycle and what to compost and what to trash. The next generation has this figured out and they can help educate us all! This story highlights my (high school aged) kids' school district. Way to go Shoreline School District! https://lnkd.in/g6piM759

And now, with Ridwell available to people across the US, even more people can join this movement. 🌎♻️ Check out the full article here https://lnkd.in/gAvDqH_d If you believe in reducing waste and creating positive change, please give it a read and share it with people in your life! #Ridwell #Wirecutter #Sustainability #Recycling
