In this episode of It’s Special, Tina McCourt, Rebecca School’s Executive Director, explains how our approach empowers students and why the dedication of our staff makes all the difference. Her perspective is a reminder of the impact our team has every day and why sharing these stories is so important 🌟 At Rebecca School, every role contributes to helping students build the skills they need to thrive. Serving students aged 3–21, our team utilizes the DIRFloortime® approach to foster emotional, social, and academic growth. With individualized programs, we meet each student where they are and provide the support they need to move forward, whether at our Manhattan or Mount Vernon campuses. 🎧 Listen to the episode: https://bit.ly/3UZuO67

Helping Students Learn, Relate, and Thrive through DIRFloortime®
About us
Rebecca School is a DIRFloortime® therapeutic day school serving students ages 3 to 21 with neurodevelopmental delays in relating and communicating. We believe that relationships are the foundation of learning, and we design every program to support each student’s developmental profile, strengths, and interests. At Rebecca School, we use the DIRFloortime® model to promote emotional growth, communication, social interaction, and meaningful skill development. Our teams create individualized learning experiences that combine therapeutic support, responsive teaching, and collaborative problem solving. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. We meet each student where they are and help them take the next step toward confidence and independence. Professionals choose Rebecca School because they want to make a lasting impact on the lives of children and young adults. We offer ongoing training in DIRFloortime®, opportunities to grow in special education and clinical practice, and a collaborative environment where educators, therapists, and support staff learn from one another. Our staff sees the difference their work makes every day as students develop stronger relationships, greater communication, and new ways to connect with the world. We remain committed to creating a safe, joyful, and supportive school community for students, families, and staff. Through close partnership with home and community teams, we help learners progress with purpose and thrive in ways that are meaningful to them.
