This initiative brings SHA and the Department of Public Works and Transportation together to clean and maintain our roadways. That moment when Gov. Wes Moore remembers the exact number of times we’ve met—and tells me I can stop introducing myself 🤣. I’m grateful for his support of Prince George's County, Maryland and for County Executive Aisha Braveboy’s leadership in championing PGC 311 Strikeforce, our push to reduce the 311 service-request backlog. I’m proud that our Prince George's County Department of Public Works and Transportation was a part of this transformative effort, helped clear thousands of requests, and met every goal set before us. On the same weekend, I had the honor of being sworn in to the DC Water Board. Grateful to join board members, the Chair Dr. Unique Morris-Hughes , PhD and DC Water CEO David L. Gadis, who underscored just how vital and interconnected our regional water system are. And today’s exciting launch of Pure Water DC highlights the urgency of reuse, resilience, and innovation—especially after the near-crisis on July 3 last year, when DC was minutes away from running out of water. Awesome job facilitating today Kirsten B. Williams, Esq.!! Transportation sits at the crossroads of everything, including water infrastructure. I’m proud to represent Prince George’s County and to help strengthen the systems that sustain our region.

Read this one to the end… Tonight, my heart is full. I couldn’t be prouder of our Prince George's County Department of Public Works and Transportation, Office of Transportation team for being recognized as Transit Fleet of the Year by the Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition (GWRCCC). Thanks Executive Director Antoine M. Thompson for the partnership! This incredible honor belongs to an amazing group of people: Semia H., Efon Epanty, Ph.D., William Proctor, and the entire transit team, whose dedication, professionalism, and passion for service never go unnoticed. A special thank you to DCAO Kevin Stephen and Director Michael Johnson, PE for their support in building a cleaner, greener Prince George's County, Maryland. And then… something happened that stopped us in our tracks. As we were leaving, a mother, Ms. Kanetta approached us. With gratitude in her eyes, she shared how her daughter had been shot in 2021 and how County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy, Esq. stood by her family through the unimaginable. Though her daughter’s best friend didn’t survive, Ms. Kannetta couldn’t leave without recording a thank you video for the County Executive’s kindness and compassion that carried them through (swipe left to see this moment). That reminded me what public service truly means. It’s not just about awards or recognition, it’s about people. Tonight was more than a celebration, it was a reminder that public service matters. Always.
