It was incredible to witness the energy and commitment at our Bright Spirits, Bright Futures event in Chicago this week! We loved seeing everyone engage with our mission in new ways through the interactive stations! ✨ 🎧From listening to alumni audio and video stories, to writing advice to their 18-year-old self, to speaking directly with our alumni, we hope guests left with a deeper understanding of why this work matters so much. Special thanks to our panelists Terry Batey, Vice Principal at Prosser High School, and Diamond Trusty PMP, a OneGoal alumnus who is the CEO and Founder of her own company, for sharing their wisdom and passion, and to Greg Thompson, CPA, Emerging Leaders Council member, our moderator, and a OneGoal champion, for leading the conversation and generously donating tickets and auction items! Last Friday, over 200 OneGoal Fellows across 11 high schools in New York came together for "The Goal Ahead: Career Exploration Day" at Baruch College. 👀 New Report! A new roadmap for equitable public higher education in Massachusetts! OneGoal, along with partners including EdTrust, the Hildreth Institute, Latinos for Education, MassINC, and uAspire, released a policy roadmap that outlines what it will take for every student to access, afford, and complete a postsecondary degree. The report focuses on four areas: 🔵 Access and affordability 🔵 Student success and completion 🔵 Degree value 🔵 Transparency and accountability Massachusetts is reshaping its public higher education system, and OneGoal is proud to contribute our insights grounded in student experience and on-the-ground advising. Recently, Fellows from 10 high schools in Illinois visited Dominican University as part of our partnership and dual enrollment program! 🏫✨ Students learned about Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), reflected on key school moments, explored campus resources, toured the campus, enjoyed lunch in the Social Hall, and heard from Dominican freshmen.📚 OneGoal alum Layla, now a junior at Dominican, reconnected with her former OneGoal teacher Vanessa in a full-circle moment! 💛 Fun fact: Visits to DU also make our Fellows eligible for their $1,000 Visit Scholarship and $2,500 SUCCESS Scholarship if they apply! 🎓 Learn more about our partnerships here: https://lnkd.in/gdq8K4_a
