Congratulations to the #MNSWater design and CM team and Burbank Water & Power for receiving a 3rd award for the Stormwater BMP Implementation project! The project was selected for a 2025 APWA Southern California Chapter Best Project of the Year Award. The Stormwater Improvement Project tackled tough regulatory compliance challenges at BWP’s 22.5-acre campus with forward-thinking, sustainable solutions such as a new pipeline which diverts off-site flows, onsite stormwater which is captured and treated through underground storage and infiltration facilities, and treated water which is reused to supplement cooling tower operations at the power plant - saving an estimated 8 million gallons of water annually. Despite tight permitting and construction schedules, the project was delivered on time and on budget!

#MNSTransportation and Zephyr are honored to receive an American Council of Engineering Companies of California (ACEC California) Engineering Excellence Merit Award for the City of Emeryville Quiet Zone Safety Engineering Measures on 65th, 66th, and 67th Streets Project! The project has enhanced safety and quality of life for residents and businesses surrounding this heavily trafficked rail corridor. New protected bike lanes were installed as part of the project, along with crossing upgrades at the 65th and 67th Street pedestrian crossings. We can’t wait to have our team’s efforts recognized at ACEC’s Engineering Excellence Awards Banquet this February.

#MNS was happy to attend American Public Works Association Northern California Chapter Public Works Conference in Oakland this week. It was a blast sponsoring  "The RFP Dating Game" panel, as well as supporting our very own Chad Harden as he and Brandon Hays with Contra Costa Transportation Authority shared how resiliency is critical in all areas of infrastructure and an overview of critical hazards and risks to bridge resiliency.
