knownwell physician, Christina Huynh Nguyen, MD, DABOM, recently spoke with CNN about the federal government’s new collaboration with Eli Lilly and Company and Novo Nordisk aimed at lowering GLP-1 drug prices and expand access through Medicare and Medicaid.   While we’re still awaiting full details, we’re encouraged by this progress toward more equitable, affordable care for patients using GLP-1 and metabolic medications!

We had an incredible time in Atlanta last week closing out ObesityWeek® 2025 with not one, but two amazing knownwell events! 🎉   knownwell hosted a happy hour and a dinner, each bringing together local physicians and healthcare leaders to learn more about our mission to provide comprehensive, compassionate care for people living with obesity.   Huge thanks to Selina Okonokhua B.S., M.S. and Ijeoma Azonobi, MD, MPH, DABPM, DABOM for making both evenings such a success!

The knownwell team is at ObesityWeek® listening live to the White House’s announcement on expanded access to GLP-1 medications!   After a year marked by access restrictions, it’s encouraging to see momentum building toward broader coverage and more sustainable treatment models as we move into 2026.    Recognition by the White House marks an important narrative shift, one we live by: obesity is a chronic condition, not a lifestyle choice, and it deserves appropriate medication access and coverage.    We hope this is the first step in making anti-obesity medications more affordable.
