2025: The Year of Detroit | November 🦃 Thankful in Detroit! 💛 Thanksgiving in Detroit means two things, the annual parade on Woodward Avenue and cheering on the Detroit Lions🦁🎺 Since 1924, this beloved tradition has filled the heart of the city with colorful floats, marching bands, and holiday cheer, making it one of the oldest Thanksgiving Day parades in the nation. As the procession rolls down historic Woodward Avenue, it passes iconic landmarks like the Spirit of Detroit statue, the Joe Louis Monument, Hart Plaza, the Fox Theatre, and Comerica Park, all symbols of a city rich in pride, progress, and gratitude. As floats roll by and music fills the air, it is a time to pause and appreciate what makes this city so special, the people. From families gathering downtown to friends sharing meals and communities coming together to give back, Detroit shines with gratitude and heart 💙 This season, let us celebrate the spirit of the city, one built on resilience, connection, and generosity. There is so much to be thankful for right here in the Motor City 🏙️✨ 📣 Did you know Woodward Avenue was once a Native American path called the Saginaw Trail, connecting Detroit to Pontiac, Flint, and Saginaw. October marks the return of Pistons basketball and Red Wings hockey, bringing fresh energy to the city and excitement to Little Caesars Arena. The Red Wings kicked off their season strong as the only Michigan team to take home a win this past weekend... a reminder that Detroit’s fighting spirit is alive and well on the ice! Meanwhile, the Pistons are gearing up to start their season, ready to bring the same passion and pride to the court. Cheer on these hometown heroes and feel the roar of Detroit pride as the city’s sports legacy continues to grow with every game. 📣 Did you know? Opened in 2017, Little Caesars Arena is home to both the Detroit Pistons and Red Wings. This week, in celebration of National Manufacturing Day, JVIS proudly welcomed students into our Shelby Township facilities for a behind-the-scenes look at how products go from concept to consumer. Students from L'Anse Creuse Public Schools Pankow Center and Utica Community Schools Henry Ford II High School explored every step of the process, from design and prototyping to engineering, testing, and validation, and experienced firsthand how innovation drives the automotive industry. As part of Macomb County’s Manufacturing Week (Sep 29–Oct 3), we were proud to showcase the exciting opportunities in today’s fast evolving manufacturing world. A huge thank you to the students and educators who joined us, we look forward to continuing to inspire the next generation of innovators!
