We were honored to join mental health leaders in Baltimore County and across Maryland, who are committed to supporting student behavioral health. Youth Executive Function Project Manager, Kadena Williams, MPH, CHES®, and Executive Director, Sarah Norman, attended the Maryland Community Health Resources Commission (CHRC) and Maryland Consortium on Coordinated Community Supports event celebrating the impact of Consortium grants on students and families. The Consortium awarded 96 million dollars to 107 grantees this year, including BrainFutures. BrainFutures received funding to implement an evidence-based youth executive function program in 10 Title I schools in Baltimore County, serving 1,200 elementary students. Executive function skills can improve student readiness to learn, academic performance, behavior, school connectedness, and overall well-being and mental health. We are excited to grow our program and support student well-being by partnering with Baltimore County Public Schools, the Baltimore County Bureau of Behavioral Health, and our fellow Consortium grantees - Backpack Healthcare, Balance Point Wellness, BTST Services, Hope Health Systems, Inc, Jewish Community Services, Lighthouse Inc., Thrive Behavioral Health, LLC, TIDEMARK INTERVENTION SERVICES, and Villa Maria Catholic Charities Behaivoral Health.
