We’re proud to share that Genius was nominated for a 2025 MediaPost OMMA Award in the Content Marketing: Single Execution category for our partnership with Panda Restaurant Group. We teamed up with Lupe Fiasco to break down his track “Express”—a playful nod to his love of the chain—on our signature VERIFIED series. Paired with custom social content that sparked foodie and music debates, the campaign exceeded performance benchmarks and gave a fast-food favorite fresh cultural relevance. We’re honored to be recognized alongside such standout work. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners—and thank you to our client partners, community, and artists who make Genius what it is. We are excited to announce the launch of Genius of the Month, an initiative dedicated to celebrating the outstanding achievements and contributions of our team each month. This month's Genius of the Month award goes to Alexa Teeman (Senior Account Manager) and Sammy May (Senior Product Designer). Alexa always prioritizes the wellbeing of the team and is the first to step up and raise her hand when help is needed. In addition, she approaches problems with curiosity and consistently seeks out opportunities to grow. Despite having her hands full with several high profile accounts, she also makes time to provide valuable mentorship to her teammates. Sam's creativity and strategic approach have been essential to a major project that's been happening behind the scenes. He delivers high-quality designs with exceptional speed, asks insightful questions, and consistently supports his peers by collaborating, sharing feedback, and offering help whenever needed. Thank you both for embodying what it means to go above and beyond! We are so lucky to have you on the team.

Going into Friday, it was clear Taylor Swift's 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘚𝘩𝘰𝘸𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭 would dominate the Genius charts—the only question was how big it would get. Now we know: October 3 was Genius's biggest traffic day of the year, thanks to Taylor. From Friday through Monday, she generated nearly 𝟮𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 songpage views and 𝟵 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 annotations views. Top songs included “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Father Figure,” and “Actually Romantic,” which might be Taylor’s barbed response to Charli xcx’s 2024 BRAT track “Sympathy is a knife.” That possible diss even gave Charli a boost—“Sympathy is a knife” racked up 𝟭𝟭𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀 over the same three days. Last night, the NFL announced Bad Bunny as the headliner for the Super Bowl LX halftime show in February, and Genius data suggests this was a very smart move. The Puerto Rican superstar is the second most popular artist of 2025 on Genius—only the previous Super Bowl headliner, Kendrick Lamar, has amassed more views on our site this year—and his most recent album, the deeply nostalgic and socially conscious ‘DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS,’ has nearly 6 million views. This total includes song pages with lyrics translated into English, as non-Spanish speakers frequently use Genius to better understand Bad Bunny's lyrics. Back in 2019, we were fortunate enough to have Bad Bunny call in during the filming of a Deconstructed episode breaking down the production of “Callaíta,” his hit collaboration with the producer Tainy. Check it out below—and let us know what songs you hope Bad Bunny plays at Levi’s Stadium on February 8, 2026!

With fall just around the corner, now is a good time to reflect on the last few months and join the discourse surrounding the Song of the Summer. On Sunday night, Tate McRae’s “Just Keep Watching” took home Song of Summer honors at the MTV VMAs, but interestingly enough, that tune didn’t place super high on our list of the most popular songs from Memorial Day through Labor Day, as measured by Genius pageviews. Check out the article below to see what songs dominated our chart this summer. https://lnkd.in/gui7NP_3

Last Friday, Ghostface Killah dropped ‘Supreme Clientele 2,’ the sequel to his 2000 album ‘Supreme Clientele.’ This is just the latest example of hip-hop's love affair with legacy sequels, or follow-ups to classic LPs released years after the originals. Over the decades, artists like Eminem, JAY-Z, Nas, and Nicki Minaj have given us sequels to beloved albums, and we've put together a brief history of the phenomenon. Check it out—then jump in the comments and tell us your favorite hip-hop legacy sequel. https://lnkd.in/gB4hKKcR

While some argue that R&B doesn't have the same cultural cache it once did, there are plenty of young artists moving the genre forward while paying tribute to legends from the past. Making her Genius debut, writer Jazmin Kylene gives props to R&B's "new Mount Rushmore" and celebrates some of the amazing 21st century singers writing the genre's next chapter. https://lnkd.in/gsu6pK9P
