Nationwide, just 1 in 4 first-generation college students completes their degree within five years. RA’s Next Steps curriculum helps students beat the odds through mentorship, experiential learning, and financial, academic, and career support. RA is the bridge to resources, connecting students with the right educators, counselors, professional contacts, and community members with lived experience to help them tailor each student’s post-secondary planning. Our most recent Pathway Session featured stories from an inspirational group of Hispanic/Latinx leaders through our partnership with Corporate Pero Latinos. As first-generation students themselves, our guest speakers shared their stories of triumph that had RA juniors and seniors students nodding in recognition and authentically motivated to pursue a life they love. Shoutout to our speakers for sharing their stories: Javier C. - Senior Programs and Marketing Manager, Global Visionaries Raquel A Gómez - Associate VP, Partnerships and Market Development, Seattle Credit Union Asa Chavez-Knight, P.E. - Associate Civil Engineer, Seattle Public Utilities Stephanie Hernandez - Yoga Instructor/Therapist, Yoga Behind Bars

𝗔𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲 𝗹𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗱. 𝗗𝗲𝗷𝗮 𝗱𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗷𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲 𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘀. 𝗔𝘆𝘂𝗱𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘆𝘂𝗱𝗮𝗱𝗼. Gracias a Rocio Castillo (she/her/ella), Noelfry V. Alana Sosa, Mardoqueo Arteaga y Matik Zed. Por ser las voces de este evento

📢 Backstage at SoundCloud went GLOBAL this year. Our collaborative networking event kicked off its second edition at our Berlin HQ, and for the first time, we brought the bash to our New York City office. On the agenda? Networking, demo sessions, and a behind-the-scenes look into our inclusive culture. Of course, every party needs music, and we loved having our very own talented SoundClouders take on DJ duties for both events, and in NYC, artist Leanys performed in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month 🎊 Many thanks to ReDI School of Digital Integration, Techqueria New York City, Corporate Pero Latinos, and The Industry in Spanglish, who joined us and a special shout out to the SoundClouders who made it all happen: event leads Nikki Saini, Daniel Snider and Martha Lopez, the excellent demo crews, the Talent Acquisition, Workplace, and DEI teams plus, Jennifer Caserta and Sarah Hodd for leading such engaging discussions. It was truly a community effort that made each Backstage at SoundCloud such a success 🚀 We’re looking forward to planning the next one! #MusicIndustry

I had the pleasure of collaborating with Corporate Pero Latinos and LinkedIn for their Career Panel discussion, where I had the opportunity to provide professional headshots. 📸 It was truly an honor to be in a room filled with inspiring Latinos in a corporate setting. • As we near the end of Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month, our NYC Chapter partnered with LinkedIn’s HOLA ERG for an inspiring Career Panel Discussion and the energy in the room was unmatched. ✨ From insightful conversations with Linkedn professionals to a hands-on presentation by Rocio Castillo (she/her/ella) (one of our very own CPL members and HOLA Co-Lead!) on how to revamp your Linkedin profile, the evening was filled with knowledge-sharing, connection, and community. 🤝🏽 Our panelists, Alana Sosa, Mardoqueo Arteaga, Matik Zed, & Noelfry V. were nothing short of amazing. We appreciate the time you spent with us sharing your experiences and knowledge. A huge thank you to the incredible White Tee Black Dress photography team who captured our headshots and the night's special moments. Here's to continuing to open doors, elevate voices, and empower Latinos in every space we step into. 💛 #corporateperolatinos #latinos #latinx #nyc #hispanicheritagemonth #careergrowth #careerdevelopment

⚡ During this Hispanic Heritage Month, it was a privilege to take part in a panel discussion on HR and Recruiting for Corporate Pero Latinos! It was an event that brought together professionals across industries to exchange insights, uplift community voices, and celebrate the richness that Latine professionals bring to corporate spaces. The conversation centered on interviewing, onboarding, and navigating the evolving talent landscape in the age of AI. These topics are often out of reach for many Latine professionals, especially first-generation college graduates. The panel offered a space to share practical guidance and lived experiences, while also learning from others in Talent Acquisition and HR roles. 💫 The dialogue was honest, energizing, and deeply rooted in authenticity. It reflected the beauty of non-linear career journeys and the power of representation in spaces where it’s long been missing. And yes, you can bet the empanadas were amazing. 👏 I'd like to thank Sophia Zarate for having me. I'm truly looking forward to continuing to build community and support in CPL. #HispanicHeritageMonth #LatinoLeadership #HRCommunity #CareerGrowth #RepresentationMatters #PayItForward

Last week was quite the challenge but it was all worth it! As some of you may know, I’m a special events & admissions associate by day and a non-profit ceo & project manager by night. 💫 Although it’s a balancing game, I am so filled with joy every time I get to see different visions come to life and work alongside so many kind and wonderful people. Corporate Pero Latinos - My passion project which I never shut up about! We don’t host panel discussions that often but, when we do, they are planned with so much care in hopes of passing down as much knowledge to our community. Marymount School of New York - This school has opened many doors for me as a professional. We just hosted our first ever Homecoming Carnival this past weekend and had a full house enjoying all kinds of games, music, and a dunk tank! Didn’t have that on my 2025 bingo card. 😄 Wine on Wheels - Such a special organization founded by Yannick Benjamin. We hosted our annual grand tasting fundraiser yesterday and it was a big success! I'm so grateful to be part of the team that fuels this organization’s beautiful mission of bringing people together from across the hospitality industry to pour wines, socialize, and raise funds to empower people with disabilities to realize their full potential. Here’s to the next event because there’s always one coming up. ☝🏽 #community #events #nyc #corporateperolatinos #marymountschool #wineonwheels #nonprofit

l'm so honored to be leading an organization that has so much heart. I had such a fun time celebrating our Corporate Pero Latinos Seattle chapter's 2 year anniversary and left so happy after witnessing the love that the Seattle community has for CPL. 💛 Thank you Carlos P., Raquel A Gómez, Nadia Gonzalez, Uriel Galarza, Stephanie Hernandez, & Javier Cervantes for leading with care and compassion while making sure to have fun in the process. 🤙🏽 I'm so proud of you all! When we launched the chapter, I asked people if Seattle even had enough Latinos that would be interested in a community like CPL because I actually had no idea. This past weekend, they just had their largest event with 100+ members showing up to support and celebrate. Here’s to many more years of CPL Seattle! 💫 #corporateperolatinos #latinos #seattle #community #nonprofit
