Updates

  • Recently, Chick-fil-A Restaurant Owner-Operator Britt Sims was hosting a Friendsgiving party for teams at her two Columbia, SC, Restaurant locations. More than 175 Team Members gathered for a big family-style dinner in the parking lot at Chick-fil-A Saluda Pointe. The team was having such a great time that they completely forgot a Chick-fil-A Supply delivery was scheduled for that afternoon.    To make matters more interesting, the entire parking lot had been transformed into a full celebration space — a petting zoo with cows, goats, and ducks, cars and people everywhere, hay bales, s’mores, games, and a giant buffet stretching across the lot. It was quite the scene when the Chick-fil-A Supply truck pulled in.    But their Driver, Lanny, didn’t hesitate for a moment. With the normal delivery path completely blocked, he parked in a different spot — one that required him to walk nearly four times farther than usual — and approached with a smile on his face and a cheerful attitude.    Britt shared, “He was so kind, even letting us give him a plate of food and a bag of popcorn to take with him. He showed what true hospitality looks like and represented Chick-fil-A Supply beautifully.”    She noted that Lanny didn’t have to respond the way he did. “It was completely our mistake, but he handled it with grace, positivity, and care. We’ll be using his example when we talk about Second Mile Service with our team. You truly have a great delivery partner in Lanny, and we are so thankful!”

  • Michael Daniel first joined Chick-fil-A Supply in 2021 as Assistant General Manager at the Cartersville Distribution Center (DC), bringing over two decades of experience leading supply chain operations for well-known brands. There, he helped launch programs that still shape how we work: Driver Development, a Safety Committee, and the BLAST startup support team. Michael’s fluency in Lean principles and Six Sigma practices, combined with people-focused leadership and coaching, supported more than 80 Team Member promotions in just over two years.    Now, as General Manager of the brand-new Fort Lauderdale DC in Weston, FL, Michael is focused on guiding his team as they build trust with every delivery so Restaurants can serve their guests with confidence. “Our goal is to deliver remarkable service to every restaurant we serve,” Michael says, “but the most important part of that mission is how we care for the people who make it happen every day.”

Chick-fil-A Supply® recently welcomed community leaders, local Chick-fil-A Owner-Operators, and their Team Members to a Town Hall and guided tour of our newest Distribution Center (DC) in Weston, Florida. The facility is preparing to begin operations later this month. The Weston DC will serve 85+ Chick-fil-A restaurants across South Florida. General Manager Michael Daniel will lead more than 90 Team Members and oversee a fleet of 20+ trucks.    Florida Secretary of Commerce Alex Kelly and Weston Mayor Margaret Brown joined us to celebrate the Town Hall and take part in a ribbon-cutting as the team prepares to support Restaurants across the region.  To mark the occasion and support our commitment to fighting hunger, Chick-fil-A, Inc. donated $25,000 to Feeding South Florida, a Feeding America partner, to help combat food insecurity in the area.    “We are grateful for our community partners and the local Owner-Operators who joined us to celebrate this milestone. Our focus is on building a culture that supports our people, serves our Restaurant partners, and positively impacts communities throughout South Florida,” Michael said.

  • We wrapped the first-ever Chicken Truck Rodeo Showdown, hosted by the Chick-fil-A Supply Mebane Distribution Center (DC). After a full day of skill tests, safety checks, and precision driving, Justin, representing the Mebane DC, and Nick, from the Dallas DC, ended the competition in a dead heat. It all came down to the stopwatch on the obstacle course. This edge-of-your-seat tiebreaker crowned Justin our inaugural champion, with Nick as runner-up and Corey, Nashville DC, rounding out third place on the winners' podium.    It was a day built around real-world driving excellence: navigating tight spaces like a crowded restaurant lot, threading past obstacles, and proving calm control under pressure. Drivers also completed a knowledge test and a hands-on vehicle inspection, with eight Transportation Managers from across our network of DCs serving as judges. The showdown anchored our Transportation Appreciation Week celebration. Mebane DC leaders surprised everyone with a "Boots on the Ground" dance. The leadership team jumped in to cheer (and even try the course), and Transportation Supervisor Gerard Wilson served up a celebratory feast. The North Carolina Trucking Association's simulator allowed guests to experience firsthand the demands of professional driving.    With the win, our Mebane DC will proudly retain hosting duties in 2026. Most importantly, the day honored our Drivers, whose skill and care keep Chick-fil-A Restaurants supplied, one safe delivery at a time.

  • “One of our values here is to pursue what's next,” shares Brian, Automations Manager at Chick-fil-A Supply Dallas. “My team gets to live that out day-to-day as they work with a state-of-the-art automated system.” As Chick-fil-A Supply continues to grow, they're really getting to put their thumbprint on the future, "Brian says.

  • We’re grateful, this week and every week, for our Drivers and Navigators. Celebrating Transportation Appreciation Week recently was a chance to recognize every member of our transportation team across the network for how they deliver with excellence. Local Chick-fil-A Owner-Operator Rob Rogers shares the impact Chick-fil-A Supply Drivers have on his Restaurant: “What you do makes a huge difference!”

From one of the network’s first ten drivers to training the next generation.    Gabe DiNardi, a Philadelphia kid who once took the train to eat at Chick-fil-A in a mall, is now training the teams who deliver those meals safely to Restaurants nationwide. In 2022, Chick-fil-A Supply launched a small Implementation team, responsible for training Team Members and Leaders for new Distribution Centers (DCs). Today, Gabe leads training for Transportation roles.    He started in the late '90s in beverage and foodservice distribution. A brief step into supervision clarified what he valued most: serving customers. When his family brought him to Georgia, he joined the first DC in Cartersville as a Driver. The culture he found changed everything. "I remember calling friends when I got here to tell them about the job and saying, 'This almost doesn't seem real.'" After experiencing the customer-first approach, he pursued a Supervisor role at Chick-fil-A Supply Cartersville, was promoted, and now builds that same experience for others.    "The training is excellent, but it's the people and leaders that make the difference. They pick the right people, and they’ve shown me how to be organized and be a caring leader." For example, Gabe's leaders gave him small, deliberate opportunities to speak in front of groups, building confidence in an area that wasn't natural at first. "Chick-fil-A Supply makes you a better person."    What's Gabe looking forward to? Continuing to grow alongside the teams he serves. "I'm excited about our growth. We get better every year," Gabe shares.
