Fresh off a division win against the Minnesota Vikings that placed the team atop the NFC North, the Chicago Bears have recently named Jonathan Otten as the team’s 2025 Fan of the Year. Otten, a U.S. Navy veteran and lifelong Chicago Bears fan, was selected for his loyalty to the team, dedication to service and meaningful impact within his community. The news was shared during a virtual conversation he believed was part of the selection process, until Chicago Bears tight end Colston Loveland unexpectedly joined the call to reveal the announcement. Otten was later recognized as Fan of the Year during the Chicago Bears’ most recent home game, where he and his family were surprised with tickets to Super Bowl LX. He also shared a special moment on the field with Loveland, who was recently named NFC Offensive Player of the Week during Week 9. A devoted fan since childhood, Otten carried his Chicago Bears pride throughout his military service, carving the Chicago Bears logo into his hearing protection aboard the USS Michigan submarine and wearing his Chicago Bears hat on gamedays while stationed at sea. Today, he remains active in his community through volunteer work with his local Cub Scout Pack, supporting food drives and placing U.S. flags on the graves of fallen service members, while passing down his Chicago Bears fandom and traditions to his three young sons. 🐻 💙 🧡 Otten will represent the Chicago Bears at Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, Calif., as our nominee for the NFL’s Ultimate Fan of the Year, and he needs your support. Vote for Jonathan Otten and help bring the title home to Chicago: NFL.com/FanOfTheYear

This season, the Chicago Bears proudly partnered with USAA, the Official Salute to Service Partner of the team, to honor and support service members, veterans and their families through a series of impactful events. The collaboration began at Naval Station Great Lakes, where several Chicago Bears players Travis Homer, Josh Blackwell, Theo Benedet and Tory Taylor spent the day touring the base, learning from sailors and signing autographs. Soon after, Chicago Bears alumni Anthony Morgan and Mark Carrier returned to Great Lakes to take part in the Special Delivery Baby Shower, joining active-duty service members, National Guard members and their spouses in celebrating new and expecting parents. At Halas Hall, the Chicago Bears and USAA hosted Pros vs. GI Joes, a gaming event that paired Chicago Bears defensive ends Daniel Hardy and Austin Booker with military guests and their families for friendly Jackbox and Madden NFL matchups. To close the season’s lineup, Merging Vets and Players (MVP) brought together veterans, service members and former athletes for a high-energy group workout led by a certified trainer, joined by Chicago Bears alumni Henry Melton and Tom Thayer. The session ended with dinner and open conversation about leadership, resilience and life after service. The Chicago Bears also hosted the Salute to Service Game, presented by USAA, this past Sunday against the New York Giants, honoring active-duty service members, veterans and their families through a series of in-game recognitions and tributes. Through every event, Chicago Bears and USAA worked side by side to create meaningful experiences that celebrated the people behind the uniform, those whose dedication, sacrifice and strength mirror the very values that define our game. 🐻💙
