Chef’s mission is to empower humans by accelerating the advent of intelligent machines in the world

About us

At Chef we believe that AI’s biggest impact will be on the physical world, representing 90% of Global GDP. In the food industry, for example, in 2023 there were 1,137,000 jobs unfilled in food preparation and service (Bureau for Labor Statistics). These growing labor shortages are forcing food companies to leave millions of dollars on the table every year in unmet demand. As this pain becomes more acute, food companies are more aggressively seeking out alternatives, including off-shoring more and more parts of the food supply chain to other countries where there is more labor available; this of course comes with its own significant risks for the US. Chef Robotics offers a new way for food companies to overcome their labor shortage and increase production volume using AI-enabled robots that mimic the flexibility of humans. Chef allows companies to maximize revenue by meeting demand, while keeping the American food supply chain onshore. Chef's mission is to accelerate the advent of intelligent machines in the world to empower humans to do what humans do best.

I’ve joined Chef Robotics as Marketing Manager 🚀 Here’s what got me: I’ve seen various robotics companies promise to automate “everything.” Chef picked just three hard problems in the food industry - labor shortages, food waste and variability, and production scalability - and actually solved them. The robots are operating at real food manufacturing plants with over 75 million meals assembled and an NSF certification earned. The challenge for me is interesting: how do you market technology that sounds futuristic but is already working? Most people still think food robotics is 5-10 years away, but it’s happening now. I’ll be figuring that out across brand, product marketing, and growth. And if you’re curious about robots that can handle your avocado without squishing it, check out https://lnkd.in/dYwZdKhi 🥑🤖 #Robotics #FoodTech #Foodmanufacturingsystems #Automationinfoodindustry

President, CEO & Director @ NSF

Welcome to the future of food manufacturing. NSF has certified the first-ever AI-enabled food portioning robotic module to NSF/ANSI 169—a major milestone in how artificial intelligence and food safety are coming together on the production line. This breakthrough from Chef Robotics isn’t just about automation, it’s about intelligent collaboration. Their AI-powered robot works alongside people in real-time, meeting the highest standards for cleanability and food safety. We’re proud to support innovators who are using AI to reshape industries while protecting public health. This is where technology meets trust. #AIinFoodSafety #NSFCertified #ChefRobotics #FoodTech #PublicHealth #FutureOfFood #Innovation #NSF https://lnkd.in/guYmEK-5

  • POV: You're a tray at the ILPRA booth at EATS last week. Jokes aside, we had an amazing time co-exhibiting with ILPRA at EATS Chicago! Our team enjoyed meeting new and existing customers across the food manufacturing space, from automation enthusiasts to long-time partners who’ve been using our robots to push the boundaries of what’s possible in food production. We’re excited to keep building and accelerating the advent of intelligent machines! #EATSChicago #foodmanufacturing #automation

What do Chef Robotics, Pickle Robot Company, Reflex Robotics, and Foxglove have in common? We were all named among The Information's 50 most promising startups of 2025—Chef was #3 in robotics! When we first started Chef, we were hyper-focused on solving the problem customers wanted us to solve, and it wasn't easy. But our customers motivated us to keep going through setback after setback (robots are hard). Today, Chef robots have completed over 73 million servings in production. If you buy a meal at Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Costco, or Safeway, Chef robots likely made that meal! Soon, we hope to deploy robots not just in food manufacturing plants but also in day-to-day commercial kitchens. A big thanks to Rocket Drew, Jessica E. Lessin, and The Information for the recognition. We're especially proud that all selected startups are generating real revenue and delivering real impact across various industries today. 🎥 𝟒𝟎 𝐕𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝟒 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬! 🎥 Couldn't make it to EATS formerly Process Expo, and see some of the coolest food processing technology? 𝐃𝐎 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐑! I checked out the show and got the coolest demos on camera! I condensed the videos so you can get a feel of walking the show floor right from your mobile device or computer! Got a question about a clip? Let me know in the comments and I'll do my best to answer! My personal favorite highlight from the show. The full production lines they ran on the show floor integrated dozens of different pieces of equipment from different vendors! You could watch from beginning to end how sliced pepperoni, blueberry danishes, and pet food are all produced. Thanks to Food Production Solutions Association and Messe Frankfurt GmbH for putting on a great show! #TheManufacturingMillennial #Automation #Manufacturing #Robotics #Food #FoodandBev

Applications Engineer | Robotics, Deployment, & Customer Success

I recently reached the six-month mark as an Applications Engineer at Chef Robotics. It’s been a rewarding opportunity to learn about the company’s technology, support customer deployments, and collaborate with a talented team. I often think back to my time at Botrista, Inc., where I gained valuable hands-on experience and saw firsthand how a robotics startup scales—experience that I’ve been able to bring to my work at Chef. Today, Chef robots have served 69 million meals in production for the food industry. With ongoing labor shortages and increasing demand for automation, it’s exciting to see how this technology is helping businesses operate more efficiently and allowing workers to focus on less repetitive tasks. We’re also growing our team! If you’re interested in robotics, automation, or helping reshape the food industry, Chef Robotics is hiring across several roles. https://lnkd.in/gjfapnkh I look forward to continuing to grow and support Chef’s mission in the months ahead.
