About us

BBELC has created a childcare in which every child is invited and encouraged to participate in our ever growing and diverse environment. We celebrate our differences and discoveries together as a close-knit family. Our classrooms welcome all developmental stages and we foster personalized instruction to ensure every child grows at their own individual level. We take great pride in our all encompassing learning environment starting at the infant level. Our components are seen through the eyes of the Enrichment Blocks as we have developed – library, physical education, Spanish / World Language, art, and music with more to follow. These additional classes, coupled with our curriculum, create a truly comprehensive approach to child’s development Through professional development and financial support, we have established a growing atmosphere for our teachers and staff. We take tremendous pleasure in knowing that we can help provide our teachers in the quest to further their education, and which in turn benefits the children’s academic success in the classroom. The importance of an excellent teacher, even at the earliest of ages is imperative in their developmental progress. “A great teacher, takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart.”

  • 🧪 Hands-On STEAM: Bringing Science to Life for Preschoolers For STEAM Day, our preschool team led an engaging experiment where children formed baking-soda moons and used dyed vinegar to create fizzing crater reactions. This activity boosted inquiry skills, prediction, observation, and scientific thinking. We’re looking for educators who love guiding children through meaningful, playful discovery. • Playful Possibilities with Tuff Trays! This October, our educators participated in a dynamic Professional Development session led by Rachel Waff from Becker's School Supplies. Rachel inspired our team with creative strategies for using Tuff Trays—versatile tools that spark hands-on, imaginative learning in early childhood classrooms. Key Takeaways: • Balancing Play-Based and Teacher-Led Activities: Teachers explored how Tuff Trays can support both structured lessons and open-ended play, helping children develop problem-solving, early math, and science skills while fostering social interaction. • Sensory Play for All Learners: Rachel emphasized the importance of multisensory experiences, showing how sensory play can increase engagement and support diverse learning needs. • Loose Parts & Storytelling: Educators learned to use everyday materials—like recycled items and natural objects—to encourage creativity and storytelling, making learning relevant and fun. • Managing Mess & Maximizing Exploration: Practical tips were shared for keeping activities safe, organized, and accessible, including ideas for outdoor play and collaborative resource sharing among classrooms. • Inclusive Practices: The session highlighted universal design principles, ensuring that classroom environments are welcoming and engaging for every child, including infants and toddlers. We’re excited to bring these playful possibilities into our classrooms, making learning more engaging and meaningful for every child. Thank you, Rachel Waff, for your expertise and inspiration! Parents—look out for photos and stories of our students exploring, creating, and learning with Tuff Trays. If you have questions or want to get involved, reach out to your child’s teacher! #ProfessionalDevelopment #EarlyChildhoodEducation #PlayfulLearning #TuffTrays #HandsOnLearning #RachelWaff #BeckersSchoolSupply

  • We’re so fortunate to have been partnered with Alyssa Blask Campbell for several years now - her Seed & Sew program has been an instrumental piece of the continued development of our approach to social-emotional education. Alyssa recently treated our families to a webinar dedicated to supporting children through transitions. A key piece? Predictability can make all the difference when your child faces separation anxiety — helping them (and you!) start the day with confidence and calm. 🌤️ Check out the full video here: https://hubs.li/Q03Qz5q50 #SeedAndSew #EmotionalDevelopment #ParentTips #ChildCare #SeparationAnxiety #ParentingSupport

  • We believe learning thrives beyond four walls. We recently took the classroom outside for a free painting session that encouraged self-expression, fine motor development, and a connection to the natural world. Supporting children’s autonomy and creativity in open-ended experiences is at the heart of what we do. Join a team that values child-led exploration and meaningful moments. #NatureBasedLearning #ArtInEducation #ECEJobs

  • 🍂 Intentional Learning Through Fall Sensory Play 🍂 This week, our Toddler classroom explored a variety of Fall-themed sensory materials — from crunchy leaves to small pumpkins and natural items in rich seasonal colors. What might seem like simple play was actually a carefully designed opportunity to support early cognitive and developmental growth. Sensory experiences like this are essential in early childhood education. They not only stimulate the senses but also foster fine motor development, problem-solving, and social interaction. Most importantly, they allow children to engage in meaningful, hands-on learning that lays the groundwork for future academic success. As educators, it's a reminder that play is purposeful and that even the simplest activities can hold deep learning potential when guided with intention. #EarlyEducation #SensoryPlay #BuildingBlocks

  • In Pre-K, we recently read “Our Class is a Family” by Shannon Olsen — a touching book that celebrates belonging and classroom connection. Children took the message to heart by crafting their own classroom affirmations, signing their names next to the ones that resonated most, and illustrating their ideas. The following day, they collaborated on a large canvas using mixed media — paint, glitter, pom-poms, and more. This wasn’t just an art project — it was a lesson in community, creativity, and voice. At Building Blocks, we’re proud to foster environments where children feel safe, seen, and celebrated. If you're an educator passionate about building meaningful classroom culture, let's connect! #EarlyChildhoodEducation #BuildingBlocks #CollaborativeLearning #TeacherLife #NowHiring #CreativeClassrooms
