  • Story. Vision. Mission... Every story starts somewhere. Some evolve into visions. Some inspire missions. On Wednesday, Better Together CEO Megan Rose shared her story with members of the South Tampa Chamber during their nonprofit showcase. Megan told of witnessing her family struggle as a child and seeing the church step into their crisis-filled space and help them rise again. That experience became a pillar of Better Together's mission to help keep children out of foster care. Leaders from other nonprofits also shared their stories. Some help people experiencing homelessness. Others help rescue women, children, and men from human trafficking. All were grateful for the opportunity to share. • Better Together is fueled by partners who believe in stronger families. Over the last decade, more than 1,000 churches and community organizations have opened their doors, offered their support, and stood in the gap for parents and children. This milestone isn’t just a number — it’s thousands of acts of compassion that made hope possible. As we approach our 10 Year Celebration, we’re honoring every partner who has helped us change what’s possible for families. Thank you for building this movement with us. 🌟

We’re excited to share that our CEO, Megan Rose, will be a panelist at the South Tampa Chamber’s Membership Luncheon on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 11:30 AM–1:30 PM EST. This month’s luncheon features leaders from local nonprofits making a real impact in our community. We’re honored to join the conversation and highlight the work happening through Better Together. Nonprofits are also invited to host a tabletop—spots are limited, so reserve yours soon! https://lnkd.in/e_tXGNsG

  • Work's gifts... Work is a gift we give ourselves and those we care about. Recently, 96 job seekers embodied this understanding at a job fair presented by Better Together and Northside Church of Christ in Jacksonville. Volunteer job coaches, church staff, and our Northeast team supported the job seekers as they met with employers and resource partners. Dozens of interviews were conducted and scheduled. Several job seekers were hired immediately. "I'm thankful," said Jasmine Gullett, who rang the Opportunity Bell to celebrate receiving a job. • Continuing to serve... Hector Figueroa, Pastor Mark Cummins, and Brien Weidemiller are among the many veterans who volunteer to serve families and communities alongside Better Together. Pastor Cummins, of Church of Hope, and Brien, owner of Weide Automotive Repair, served in the U.S. Marines. Hector, Better Together's 2024 Southwest Florida Super Volunteer of the Year, served in the U.S. Army. Each continues to share their spirit of service and inspires our team to give its all to doing the hard things that keep families together. So today and every day, we honor them and all veterans for their sacrifice for community, country, and family. Thank you. (Moments and Story by Kinfay/U.S. Air Force veteran)
