Snow is beginning to fall across parts of England, increasing the risk of slips, trips, and falls. Make sure to remind your teams and colleagues to take extra care when travelling between sites or working outdoors to help reduce winter related injuries.

When you buy supplies and training with St John Ambulance, you're supporting community events like these 💚
18 months ago we (one of our runners) provided life-saving CPR to another one of our runners at the end of one of our run club runs. First and foremost at the time, we learnt from this incident ourselves and implemented changes to ensure our own runners were even safer when running with us. But I always knew I wanted others to learn from our experience too. So over the past 6 months, I've worked alongside St John Ambulance to do exactly that. As of yesterday, I (with the help of the incredible team at St John Ambulance) have delivered CPR and First Aid awareness sessions to over 90 run club leaders and pacers across London. That's over 40,000* run club runners we have made the run club community a safer space for, and I couldn't be prouder. You really can be the change you want to see in the world.

St John Ambulance reposted this
I'm really thankful to be part of the amazing team that won the Times Higher Education Awards trophy for Outstanding Support for Students. I've loved working on this project and observing the amazing mental health support and training that St John Ambulance has offered our Manchester Metropolitan University students. It also highlights the strength of collaboration through the use of our Mcr Met Rise platform, supported by John Lean, to give Lisa Simmons and Jake Harding's sector leading ideas the growth and scale they deserve!

In partnership with St John Ambulance, The Manchester Metropolitan University has developed a Mental Health and Suicide prevention training programme. It focuses on student wellbeing, support, and suicide prevention. We're incredibly proud to share that the programme has won the Outstanding Support for Students category at last night’s Times Higher Education Awards 2025! 🎉 The programme is freely available and is designed to be inclusive and accessible. In its pilot year at the university, 700 students completed the training, and a further 884 trained the following year. Academic departments and professional services can now access the training as well. Three certified training courses are included in the programme: a wellbeing course for students entering university, a mental health training certificate for advanced students, and a suicide prevention training course. Topics covered in the training include, stigmas, how to recognise mental health issues in others, empathetic communication techniques, understanding factors that may lead to suicidal behaviour, and how to keep people safe. "We are proud to partner with Manchester Metropolitan University on this exceptional initiative which equips young people with the skills to support mental health and prevent suicide. The programme demonstrates a way forward in tackling the concerning mental health challenges faced by those under-25, and it reflects St John's wider commitment to empowering communities with life-saving first aid knowledge,” said Lorraine Knight, Senior National Account Manager at St John Ambulance. Dr Lisa Simmons, Faculty Director of Education (Science and Engineering) at Manchester Met, said: “Through our partnership with St John Ambulance we have created a blueprint that I hope other institutions can follow. “I am delighted that Times Higher Education Awards has recognised the huge achievements of the programme, which reflects our – and the whole higher education sector’s – commitment to ensuring no student feels alone, and that we all have a role in supporting one another.” 👏 Huge congratulations to everyone involved! #THEAwards

Today on Armistice Day we honour and commemorate all the brave men and women who served and fought for our freedom. We remember the 45,000 St John Ambulance volunteers who provided medical aid and the 1,077 of those who made the ultimate sacrifice during the First World War. Our volunteers were proud to pay their respects this Remembrance Sunday, and to provide first aid cover to over 250 remembrance events across the country.

Across the country, our volunteers paid their respects this Remembrance Sunday. Lest we forget.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them….. Rememberance Sunday is always such a powerful day, a time to listen to the stories and the reflections of those that have gone before us! The day is surrounded in so much pain but at the same time , a huge feeling of pride & respect for members of the armed forces, for those that gave their lives and for those that served their country in so many ways during the great wars and the battles and conflicts since. Today I had the pleasure of laying the wreath in my home town of City of Wolverhampton Council on behalf of the many volunters of St John Ambulance Lest we forget - today and everyday

It's every parent's nightmare, but knowing what to do in an emergency can make all the difference. We hope your son is recovering well. You and your wife were truly his heroes and protectors, and hope you both aren't too shaken 💚

AWARENESS POST❗️ Well this weekend was the most frightening of our lives and very nearly the worst possible weekend imaginable. If it was not for the invaluable First Aid training provided by St John Ambulance I attended my 5 year old son would highly likely no longer be here. Thankfully my wife is also FA trained and whilst we panicked like mad, we got the job done. If you are not First Aid trained then do it. It’s the most important training you will ever receive. Safe to say the Halloween sweets are now in the bin 🫣 - Photo of sweet we managed to dislodge 😢
