The Sky Bet X EFL (English Football League) Every Minute Matters campaign is on the road again! ❤️ First launched in May 2024, Sky Bet and the British Heart Foundation Every Minute Matters campaign has already made a stadium-sized impact, inspiring more than 350,000 people to start learning CPR, but we're not stopping there; we want to raise that number even higher this season, to 500,000 people! As part of the EFL’s Week of Action, Sky Bet and the BHF will team up with EFL clubs including Tranmere Rovers FC, Birmingham City FC and Bolton Wanderers Football Club, to deliver hands-on CPR and defibrillator training at club stadiums for local grassroots teams throughout November. ⚽️ Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher kicked off the month with a face-to-face training session at Tranmere Rovers on Friday. Carragher was joined by lifelong Tranmere Rovers fan Paul Philpotts, who had a cardiac arrest at Prenton Park in May 2025 during a charity match. Paul’s brother-in-law, Chris, along with friends and TRFC staff, tirelessly performed CPR and used the TRFC defibrillator to save his life. Paul has since had quadruple bypass surgery, making a remarkable recovery. 🙌 Grassroots clubs are also being encouraged to check their eligibility and apply for a free defibrillator through the BHF’s Community Defibrillator Funding Programme, with Sky Bet funding 150 packages this year. Every Minute Matters wins at the PRWeek Awards! 🏆 On Wednesday, Sky Bet, Lansons | Team Farner and the British Heart Foundation were honoured with ‘Integrated Campaign of the Year’ at the The PRWeek Awards for our Every Minute Matters campaign. This campaign was all about one powerful goal - inspiring people across the UK to learn CPR. Through a truly integrated approach - spanning multiple channels, touch points and creative formats - we helped drive over 300,000 people to start learning a lifesaving skill. ❤️ It was a genuinely collaborative effort, with brilliant teams and partners coming together to make something meaningful happen. Introducing the Sky Bet EFL Red Boot! 🔴👟 Unveiled this week by former England strikers Jermain Defoe and Bobby Zamora, the Red Boot will crown the top scorer across all three Sky Bet EFL divisions this season. But this award is about more than glory. Every goal scored by the winner will trigger a £50,000 donation from Sky Bet to the British Heart Foundation. Paul Mullin Commends £30k Sky Bet Grant for Wigan Athletic Community Trust ⚽ This week, Super Paul Mullin swapped scoring goals for showing off his coaching skills – leading Wigan Athletic Community Trust’s Adult Disability Football Team in a special penalty masterclass. The session marked a £30,120 grant from the Sky Bet EFL (English Football League) Building Foundations Fund, which will secure the future of the Every Player Counts programme for the next three years. Here’s what the funding means: ⚽️ Weekly football sessions for adults with a wide range of disabilities 💪 Support for physical health, wellbeing and confidence 🤝 Opportunities to build friendships and social skills 🏆 The chance to compete in the Greater Manchester Ability Counts League For Mullin, the initiative is personal: “I like to be on hand to help where I can, it’s something that fills me with joy and sessions like this help bring joy to those who haven’t been as fortunate in life.” Sky Bet are proud to support programmes like this through the Building Foundations Fund - making football more inclusive, breaking down barriers and helping local communities thrive. For this year’s Sky Bet EFL (English Football League) Play-off Finals, we went bigger, better and more impactful than ever ⚽️ To close the season last month and mark our first year with British Heart Foundation, each final kicked off one minute late to spotlight our Every Minute Matters campaign - raising awareness about CPR and the urgent action needed in cardiac emergencies.
