1️⃣ year ago today we launched our first-ever campaign: Nothing Happens in Isolation. The campaign calls for urgent Government action to address the record number of school exclusions and build a more inclusive education system. Campaign highlights from the past 12 months include: ✅ Securing three policy commitments from Government following a roundtable at 10 Downing Street with the Prime Minister and our Founder Lewis Hamilton 🏆 Working with our partner Coram to secure a historic legal aid victory for families challenging unfair school exclusions 📚 Launching a series of Ambitious About Inclusion events taking place across the country, bringing together educators, policymakers and young people to drive local change - in partnership with Centre for Young Lives 🗣️ Leading a sector-wide call for inclusive education reform alongside organisations including Teach First, Chartered College of Teaching and The Children's Society 📈 Publishing new research into student, parent and teacher views of exclusions alongside Public First, and new reports on the issues of lost learning alongside The Difference, Impetus - Backing the best and IPPR We’re now working with the UK Government to build a national framework for inclusive practice in schools, amplify the voices of young people within the education system, and support teachers from underrepresented backgrounds into the classroom. We know there is much more to do. Our dedication to advocating for a truly inclusive education system continues - and we won’t stop until every young learner is supported to thrive. It's nearly been a year since Mission 44 launched our first national campaign: 'Nothing Happens In Isolation' to reduce preventable school exclusions and promote a more inclusive education system. 🤯 I sat down with Lucinda Rouse and Emily Harle at Third Sector earlier this week to discuss the campaign, what we’ve learned and how partnerships can drive more effective change across the sector. 🎧 Give it a listen at the link below... https://lnkd.in/eHyXdiaY
