🎙️InsuranceERM Weekly podcast now live: COP30’s House of Insurance COP30 will officially start on Monday in Belém, and the insurance industry is hoping to take a bigger role than ever. That push is reflected by the novel creation of a House of Insurance, CNseg’s hub near the COP venue, designed to place insurers closer to the centre of climate discussions and highlight where they can support transition and resilience efforts. In this week’s IERM Weekly podcast, Joshua Geer and Martin Assmann look at the broader themes shaping COP30, what insurers are actually doing on the ground, and what we think needs to emerge from the talks. They also consider how the House of Insurance and UNEP FI PSI events are aiming to influence debates on climate-transition policy, nature and adaptation/resilience. On a different topic, the episode also includes a special report from our man in Australia, david walker. 🎧 Listen now for our take on insurance at COP30 and what to watch next: https://lnkd.in/ezUUPXD5 CNseg - Confederação Nacional das Seguradoras United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) #COP30 #Insurance #IERMWeekly #ClimateFinance #Sustainability #HouseOfInsurance #UNEPFI #JustTransition #Adaptation #NaturePositive #NetZero #Brazil #Belém

#No #rosy #future for ESG Data. As investors continue to ask for comparable and reliable data, the #EU #policy roll-backs were causing lots of concern among finance and corporate professional alike as they threaten data #availability, #comparability, and #action. For example, Kiran Sehra stated that regardless of whether #EUDR Deforestation requirements will be delayed or not, Aviva will want to know company's risks and management of those risks. Together with Vanya Rusinova, PhD Matthew Kay and Michael Hurley I debated what standard setters and policy makers can do now to ensure that the drive for (needed) simplification is actually helping companies rather than risking their competitiveness and access to capital. Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards can fill the gap that a radically simplified #ESRS create, and help to have decision-useful and comparable information for management, investors and other stakeholders. More alignment with #GRI and #ISSB can also help global preparers to cut costs, simplify reporting and provide investors with comparable data. Thanks to the Environmental Finance Data Team Shona Thomson Michael Hurley Izzi Tunley-Lo Genevieve Redgrave for a well organised conference. #Omnibus #CSRD #Global #SustainabilityReporting
