Today we mark Armistice Day.   The armistice took effect at 11:00 in the morning - the "11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month" of 1918. Each year, we remember the sacrifices of those who gave their future for ours.   For us at BT, it's a chance to commemorate those that our direct ancestor, the GPO, released to fight in World War I, totalling more than 75,000 staff.   #ArmisticeDay #RemembranceDay Royal British Legion

High-speed internet is essential for work, school, and staying connected.   BT Group is teaming up with Starlink to bring reliable, low-latency satellite home broadband to BT and EE customers in areas where traditional infrastructure is hard to build.   This collaboration – a first in the UK and one of the first globally – will help rural communities access the connectivity they need.   Launching in the latter half of 2026. Protecting customers from fraud takes teamwork – and today marks a major step forward for the industry.   This morning we signed the second Telecommunications Fraud Sector Charter. This landmark agreement signed between government and industry will make the UK’s mobile networks safer than ever. Across industry, we have committed to blocking foreign call centres from impersonating UK banks within the next year. Protecting our customers from fraud and scams is a top priority. This year we’re blocking 3 million scam calls a day across BT, EE and Plusnet using innovative AI solutions.   As an industry we’re working together to protect the UK. Today’s charter will make it harder than ever for criminals to deceive people – helping expose fraudsters and bring them to justice.   Together, these measures will help protect millions of UK mobile users from scam calls and keep fraudsters at bay.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by Hurricane Melissa. We’re crediting back charges for mobile calls, texts and data used in Jamaica, as well as mobile and landline calls from the UK to Jamaica, between 29 October and 31 October (inclusive). Please be aware that mobile signal in the area might be affected by damage to local networks and equipment.
