Protecting customers from fraud takes teamwork – and today marks a major step forward for the industry.   This morning we signed the second Telecommunications Fraud Sector Charter. This landmark agreement signed between government and industry will make the UK’s mobile networks safer than ever. Across industry, we have committed to blocking foreign call centres from impersonating UK banks within the next year. Protecting our customers from fraud and scams is a top priority. This year we’re blocking 3 million scam calls a day across BT, EE and Plusnet using innovative AI solutions.   As an industry we’re working together to protect the UK. Today’s charter will make it harder than ever for criminals to deceive people – helping expose fraudsters and bring them to justice.   Together, these measures will help protect millions of UK mobile users from scam calls and keep fraudsters at bay.
