  • During EU Raw Materials Week 2025, we had the privilege of hosting stakeholders in Brussels at an expert roundtable event called “Bringing Innovation to Life: Realising the EU's Mining Objectives”. Joining us at the event were Bernd Schäfer, CEO and Managing Director of EIT Raw Materials, Kerstin Duhme, Senior Managing Director of Strategic Communications at FTI Consulting, and Daniel Cios, Policy Officer at DG GROW. Representing Anglo American were Lauren Vopni, VP Government and International Relations, Phil Newman, VP Tailings Innovation, Andrea López Schmidt, Technology Development Principal, Joanna Kuntonen-van 't Riet, Physical Climate Risk Principal, and Chris Biley, VP Technology Development – each contributing their expert perspectives on our approach to innovation. From our pioneering technologies such as Hydraulic Dewatering System (HDS) and SandLix, to our Sakatti copper project in Finland – designed to be a truly modern mine with minimal surface footprint and designated as a ‘Strategic Project’ by the EU under the Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA) – Anglo American is committed to delivering practical, scalable solutions that reduce environmental impact while improving efficiency, to responsibly produce the future-enabling critical minerals that the world requires. Thank you to everyone who joined the discussion and contributed to shaping the future of mining in the EU. Turning Frameworks into Action, Africa’s Critical Minerals Opportunity. How do we turn the G20 South Africa Critical Minerals Framework into real projects that deliver for African economies and communities? This was the central question at an official G20 South Africa event, hosted by the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources and the United Nations Development Programme under the theme Africa Critical Minerals Partnership. Duncan Wanblad, our Chief Executive Officer, joined leaders from government, industry, and development partners to explore this challenge. In a fireside discussion, Duncan called this a defining moment for mining and for Africa's opportunity to rethink the mining ecosystem. No single partner can do this alone. Africa’s mineral wealth is a strategic advantage, but it depends on coordinated policy, clear competitive choices, and genuine partnerships. Duncan also highlighted progress in South Africa through collaboration between business and government on energy, logistics, and reforms, disciplines that can now be applied to critical minerals. Africa has the resources and the talent. The next step? Sustained, cross-border action to turn potential into long-term, inclusive growth. #G20 #CriticalMinerals #InclusiveGrowth #LedFromAfrica #SharedWithTheWorld

Desert diamonds, our latest category marketing campaign at De Beers Group, draws inspiration from the rich, earthy tones of the desert landscapes where many natural diamonds originate.   In the newest chapter of our partnership with National Geographic, we present snapshots from the heart of the Kalahari Desert — a vast expanse of colour, rich with wildlife, steeped in ancient cultures, and home to some of the world’s most unique and rare diamonds.   De Beers is committed to giving back to the land that gives us so much. Through Okavango Eternal, our ongoing collaboration with National Geographic, we’re working to help protect the critical source waters of the Okavango Basin and the jewel of the Kalahari they sustain - the Okavango Delta.

Our employees from across the business #ShowedUp, #LacedUp and #SpokeUp for wellness at the #JacarandaCityChallenge. Every fitness level joined in, walking, running and cheering one another on. The day brought to life what wellness means for us - movement, inclusion and community. This event reflected our belief that wellness is not just physical, but emotional and social too. We also activated our #Movember campaign, shining a light on men’s health and mental wellbeing, and encouraging open, honest conversations about taking care of ourselves and each other. It was more than a race. It was a moment of connection, supporting one another, celebrating achievements and living our values together. #ShowUpLaceUpSpeakUp #Movember #Wellness #MentalHealth
