  • There is an unmistakeable message from Fulton Hogan at the 2025 Water NZ Conference in Christchurch. Starting today at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre, the conference is the largest water conference held in New Zealand and Fulton Hogan is principal sponsor and a major exhibitor. The theme of our presence is captured in the five words: Value for Generations to Come. Water is one of the fastest growing areas of Fulton Hogan’s business and the aspect of New Zealand’s infrastructure that is under the greatest pressure, principally from population growth and under-investment over several decades. National Water Manager, Simon Drew, says the focus, therefore, needs to be on value. “Value in the water sector is a bit like a Rubic’s Cube, with many inter-linked and moving parts. People often focus on immediate cost at the expense of the many other factors that lead to best value investment over time,” Simon says. “While cost is a key consideration, there’s much more to the value equation. Hence ‘value for generations to come’ – considering the bigger picture and the longer-term implications of any action.” Reinforcing this are eight case studies, demonstrating different aspects of value: Care, Readiness, Responsiveness, Capability, Commitment, Continuity, Teamwork and Capacity. These are featured on Fulton Hogan’s conference stand, on https://lnkd.in/gMXHnJ9d and in a series of Linkedin posts. “Just as value has many parts, we’re using multiple means of sheeting the value message home,” Simon says.

  • What an incredibly special week being part of WaterAid's Supporter Trip to Timor-Leste! As long-term advocates of WaterAid, Fulton Hogan is proud to support their efforts in providing communities around the world with access to clean water, decent toilets and proper hygiene. Visiting Timor-Leste allowed our team to witness the real impact of this support firsthand. Our trip saw us visit the village of Loidahar and we were honoured to spend time with WaterAid Timor-Leste staff and local villagers to understand the challenges associated with the lack of access to clean water and sanitation facilities. To see the strong dedication to improving water management and observing how the community is now benefitting from reliable water systems and subsequent environmental conservation was inspiring for all of us. We are privileged to have seen how life-changing clean water can be and we are proud of our role and the industry’s support for these communities.
