  • Our Edendale site has been awarded the Mars Dairy Supplier Quality Award, celebrating top-performing sites across Mars’ global dairy supply chain. This achievement reflects a multi-year journey of collaboration and a shared commitment to quality and food safety. Mars’ assessment looks beyond audits considering Site Quality Culture, Global Food Safety Standards and overall plant condition – and Edendale delivered. It’s a great example of how strong partnerships and a focus on doing things right help us deliver value in every product, every relationship and every drop. • We are delighted to announce a new two-year programme delivered in partnership with Growing Future Farmers to help get more rangatahi (young people) into dairy. A pilot programme co-designed by the Co-op will begin in Waikato and Bay of Plenty early next year, combining hands-on farm experience with NZQA qualifications and mentorship from Fonterra farmers. “This wrap-around support for young people entering the industry is central to creating a strong and sustainable Co-operative for future generations.” – Anne Douglas Group Director of Farm Source Read more here: https://brnw.ch/21wXp1u

  • Creating spaces where different ways of thinking aren’t just accepted but celebrated is what true belonging looks like. We are proud to see this movement taking shape.

We talk a lot about inclusion, but belonging is what really matters 🧠🌶️✨ And for many neurodivergent people, that sense of belonging can take a long time to find. From our earliest school days through to professional life, many of us are taught to think in straight lines; to “find the right answer,” “follow the steps,” and “play by the rules.” This kind of linear logic has long been treated as the gold standard for intelligence. But not everyone’s brain works that way. And too often, those who think differently are made to feel like they need to fit a system that was never designed for them. That’s why I’m so proud to introduce our BrainBadge Changemakers, a passionate group of volunteers from across Fonterra who are helping change that story. Together with Neurofusion, we’ve embarked on a journey toward achieving the BrainBadge, a certification designed to strengthen workplace inclusion by supporting neurodiverse talent, sparking innovation, and building a workplace culture that values different ways of thinking. A couple of weeks ago, we kicked things off with a fast-paced, hands-on workshop that involved hundreds of tennis balls, plenty of laughter, and a room buzzing with ‘aha’ moments. Through a deceptively simple game, we were challenged to break through through familiar thinking patterns and hidden assumptions, uncovering fresh ways to solve problems and exploring what neuroinclusive working can look like in practice. Because in a rapidly changing and increasingly complex world, the quality of our thinking matters more than the speed of our action. And innovation happens when different minds come together, not when everyone thinks the same. That’s what belonging really looks like; a culture where every kind of mind is valued. For me, this work is also deeply personsl. It’s about helping others find the sense of belonging I once searched for, and sometimes still do. To help people feel seen, valued, and supported for who they already are. If I could tell my younger self anything, it would be this: you don’t need to do or be anything different, just being you is enough. When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower. Thank you to our Changemakers and the team at Neuroinfusion for showing what’s possible when we do exactly that. • Delighted to be a finalist in the Deloitte Top 200 Company of the Year, and congratulations to Pete McBride finalist for Chairperson of the Year and Miles Hurrell finalist for Chief Executive of the Year. To be named a finalist is incredibly tough so to make the short list for three categories, for the second year running, is a testament of the hard mahi from right across the Co-op. Congratulations to all the finalists 👏

Fonterra talks proteins and profits Can Fonterra maximise returns for farmers while taking risks off the table? We’re joined by Andrew Murray, Group Chief Financial Officer for the dairy exporter. Andrew walks us through the $4.22B NZD sale of Fonterra’s consumer business and their new laser focus on high-return channels like ingredients and food service. “When I was growing up, we drank milk. People are not doing that as much anymore. They'll have a protein powder or a protein shake or a protein bar… so the demand for ingredients is incredibly high, and I just don't see that changing.” 🍎 https://lnkd.in/gpipE22t 💚 https://lnkd.in/giWVfMMh 📺 https://lnkd.in/g9Ssbmzw Shared Lunch is brought to you by Sharesies.
