This week we mark World Antimicrobial Awareness Week! Without urgent and collective action, more than 8.2 million deaths every year by 2050 could be associated with resistant bacteria. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) threatens our health systems, economies, food safety and global security. Addressing AMR is a collective responsibility across sectors and stakeholders. Global medicines regulators remain committed to working together and playing their part in tackling AMR as a priority. Explore the latest messages and key figures from the International Coalition of Medicines Regulatory Authorities (ICMRA), including a call to action for global health leaders, decision-makers, and the pharmaceutical industry to help tackle this global public health challenge. Now is the time to act to protect our present and secure our future. #worldantimicrobialawarenessweek #AMR

Across Europe, a survey showed pharmacists spent 10.4 hours each week in 2024 managing supply challenges. They help track medicine shortages, find suitable alternatives, and even compound medicines when needed. By monitoring medicine stocks and sharing early warnings, pharmacists play a key role in prevention, communication, and cooperation. Their work shows that no single organisation can solve this alone. This video, co-created with @PGEU, highlights how community pharmacists support patients and help maintain access to medicines across Europe. Learn more about our campaign here: https://lnkd.in/eFg8tZ-i Fighting medicine shortages takes a team 💪 Next week, we'll dive into how hospital pharmacists manage shortages and keep care on track. @ClaireFitzell #MedicineShortages #Pharmacists #HealthEU #PGEU #EMA #ittakesateam

🌍💊 #MedSafetyWeek 2025 is here! This week, we join organisations around the world to promote the safe use of medicines and the importance of reporting suspected side effects. 📊 Research shows that around half of all side effects are preventable. Together, we can change that. We remind all healthcare professionals to carefully consider the best treatment options before prescribing, and we call on citizens to report any suspected side effects. Medication errors and preventable adverse drug reactions continue to contribute significantly to global illness and death. Every report makes a difference — it helps regulators worldwide monitor risks and keep medicines safe. 📢 Find out more about the EU system in place to keep medicines safe and protect the health of citizens: https://lnkd.in/e58Cd4fE
