Our lithography systems use optics to steer light from chip blueprints to silicon wafers. ⚡ One of the keys to efficient patterning? Making sure as much light as possible makes it through the optics to the wafer by maximizing optical transmission.
Over ons
Who are we? ASML is an innovation leader in the global semiconductor industry. We make machines that chipmakers use to mass produce microchips. Founded in 1984 in the Netherlands with just a handful of employees, we’ve now grown to over 40,000 employees, 143 nationalities and more than 60 locations around the world. What do we do? We provide chipmakers with hardware, software and services to mass produce patterns on silicon through lithography. Our lithography systems use ultraviolet light to create billions of tiny structures on silicon that together make up a microchip. We push our technology to new limits to enable our customers to create smaller, faster and more powerful chips. Who are our people? While you may think that only engineers and mathematicians work at ASML, you'll be surprised to find out that our people come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Across ASML, we have dedicated teams that manage customer support, communications and media, IT, software development and more. Every team in the company is essential for pushing our technology and the industry forward. If you love to tackle challenges and innovate in a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment with all the flexibility and freedom to unleash your full potential, ASML is the place to be. We are pleased to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with CEA-Leti to deepen our collaboration and accelerate innovation in mainstream semiconductor technologies. 🎉 Leti, based in Grenoble, France, has been our customer for many years, with multiple ASML systems installed on-site and a long history of driving breakthrough semiconductor research with global industry partners. Their role in the ecosystem is unique: By working closely with major technology companies and equipment manufacturers, they help define future technology requirements, test new concepts on advanced toolsets and translate early-stage innovation into manufacturable solutions. This collaborative model speeds up the creation of new intellectual property (IP) and moves ideas from research to industry adoption. After achieving promising technical results together in hybrid bonding, we are now broadening our work to focus on the next wave of mainstream, or ‘More-than-Moore’ technologies. This includes advanced technologies on novel substrates such as SiC, GaN photonics materials, heterogeneous integration and other segments that are becoming essential for future electronic systems. Leti’s strong roadmap and deep understanding of these emerging domains, combined with our lithography expertise, will help us better understand the capabilities, performance knobs and future system requirements needed to enable these technologies at scale. This collaboration will also support tighter feedback loops between research insights and ASML system development. Together, we aim to accelerate progress in mainstream semiconductor technologies and help shape the next generation of ‘More-than-Moore’ solutions for future applications.

We're proud to announce we’ve officially opened our new campus in Hwaseong, South Korea. By investing in a region with major customers and a strong employee base, we deepen our commitment to supporting the semiconductor industry in South Korea and providing an exceptional workplace for our people. The campus brings together two building clusters including a reuse and repair center and a dedicated training center to strengthen collaboration and skills development. Partners and officials joined us for the opening ceremony to mark this new chapter.

What does belonging look like at ASML? 🤔 You can see it in how we listen to one another, learn from different perspectives and work together across cultures and teams. During our internal global Inclusion and Diversity Month, ASMLers worldwide showed that when inclusion is part of how we work, it brings out the best in all of us. ✨

We’re thrilled to welcome Arnab Das as ASML’s new Head of Strategy & ESG. 👏 Arnab will work closely with our Board of Management to shape ASML’s long-term growth agenda - not just in our lithography core, but also in new areas where ASML’s unique competences can create significant value for our stakeholders. In addition, he will drive our ESG strategy, embedding it across the organization as we continue to grow responsibly and sustainably. Arnab joins us from Intel, where he served as Head of Corporate Strategy. Prior to that, he was a Partner in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice of McKinsey & Company. Join us in welcoming Arnab to the ASML family. 💙
